For the last several years, my wife and I have been separated, but living together. A sort of (pardon the expression) “cheaper to keep her” kind of thing, and we’ve been mostly amicable.
With interests rate so low, we decided to fix up the house, and sell it. Metro Atlanta is a seller’s market right now, so this was a good time. We spent between $9k - $10k on new counter tops and back splash, new carpets throughout the house, upgraded the guest bathroom, repairs in the attic, and on the roof, cleaning up and fixing the outside of the house, added curb appeal, etc., etc. We got multiple offers in 24 hours, and are selling for $10k over our asking price. Closing is in a few weeks, and we’re going our separate ways. Finally!
Here’s the weird part. I met her boyfriend. He actually helped us around the house. Despite his good looks and muscles, he’s a really nice guy.
I honestly hope for the best for the soon-to-be ex. I’m just really glad I’m finally able to move on with my life.
