I had a weird dream ...

… and I’ve put it in MPSIMS because that’s where dreams belong. This is stuff that did not happen, to me or anyone else, you can’t rent the DVD or read it for yourself, yet, I must share it, and ask for comments. This just isn’t important enough for GQ or Cafe Society.

I dream that someone shows me a picture, largish, hand drawn, on a canvas. I glance at it. I look away, glance again, and it’s changed, to a horrifying, woman’s face. Taken aback, I look away, then back, and she’s closer, angrier, uglier, and more threatening. I avoid the picture. But more are sent/given to me. I stop looking. Then “they” explain themselves, that they serve her, and have for centuries, and she will get me. I look at other drawings, of her, writhing in real time, with snakes, tattooed, ugly, lascivious. And I stop looking. Then the dream switches to third person, and I see a female science teacher, marked by the group, she appears to give in, deliberately taking poison so they don’t get her. Which is fine with “them” they get her anyway, or did she poison herself, or them, I’m left wondering …

Now this is just a basic story of lethal sensation, which used to have a wikipedia entry, but it’s gone now. Anyway, if anyone’s seen a story like this lately, I hope they’ll pipe up, and give me an idea of where I got the idea to have this dream.

Dreams are too personal for me to comment without even knowing some of your background. Usually they pick up pieces of your real life and distort them, sometimes wildly beyond imagination. What I can say for a fact in my own case that if I eat too much chocolate in the evening, my dreams become very strange and vivid. I have repeated the experience so many times that I am sure of the connection. It could be that something in your diet has triggered a similar reaction. It’s always interesting and I know I can pull out of a bad cream at will. Sometimes it’s such a relief. Other times I try to go back into a dream and complete it.

True enough, I’ve decided to stop taking Nyquill when I’m sick since years ago, the dreams i was getting from that drug-induced sleep were too intense and very weird. I’d describe them, but they would overshadow my OP.

NyQuil has always done very strange things to me. For one thing, it generally makes me hyper instead of sleepy. If I’m tired enough that I manage to sleep after taking it despite that, I almost invariably have horrific nightmares.
