You said knowledge based jobs are where it’s at. The fact is that there isn’t any knowledge based work you can do here that cannot be done abroad, and cheaper. The fact is that a knowledge based economy can migrate overseas just as easily as manufacturing. Which means knowledge based industries is not the best place to be because even in the short run it’s just as vulnerable as the tech industry, and in the medium run it’s as vulnerable as manufacturing… in the long run knowledge based jobs will be moving overseas like textiles!
Have you been watching “Dragon’s Den” and “Shark tank”? Investors are demanding that budding innovators do their manufacturing overseas. That’s the future state of America and England: one out of ten inventors get seed capital to run a business and everyone else is out of work except the minimum wage cashiers. And then even the innovators will be out of a job because someone overseas will be coming up with the same ideas for less!
It’s these things that you’re ignoring… not because it came from me, but because you know you’re full of shit. I don’t know if you’ve been keeping up with current events but you’re losing ground here with your shit-headed economic theories.
