First of all I have people I can count on if hell breaks loose. My daughters have great toys and a lot of fun seeing the country but they know and are great friends with neighbors. We’re not a compound and we’re not the Sarah Palins. My eldest wants to be a brownie scout in 2 years. I’m not wishing hell upon my kids.
Now about how I feel about Conservatives: you think I’m awful or un-civil?
Have you read up on what’s going on in Europe lately? Those liberals RIOT for their beliefs. What you call “internet badass” behavior doesn’t even light a candle to what the Greeks recently did. Or the French, when some of them brazenly kidnapped corporate execs. Them fuckers know how to party like us American liberals only WISH we could.
Liberals in America used to riot over important shit. Now we sit on our hands and let the Right verbally spit on us, burn our leaders in effigy, call our leaders’ daughter the “White House dog”, and wring our hands while they bring guns to townhall meetings. Conservatives call us named and talk about watering the tree of liberty with our blood while they back this rhetoric up with flying planes into IRS buildings, blowing up FBI buildings, shooting abortion clinic doctors and hanging out in the boondocks doing shooting practice.
Have you liberals been watching the price and sales statistics of firearm ammunition lately? You should be. It’s a warning sign.
In Europe? Liberals over there don’t take that kind of abuse. They deal it. The Tea Party only wishes they could throw down like the French. We on the other hand want to play nice and civil and “get along”.
Let’s look at how successful we’ve been in trying to get along, the way Giraffe wants. We lost the chance to get the Public Option. Retirement for Social Security is up to 67. We have the least amount of vacation days in the civilized world. Our wealth inequality is one of, if not the worst in the civilized world.
Now let’s look at the Europeans who are want to riot and throw it down: their retirement is much earlier, they have more guaranteed vacation days than us, their work hours are shorter, they have Universal Health Care, and their U6 unemployment rate actually dipped below ours in 2009. (It may still be lower.)
If I lived in Europe I’d be a part of their protests… which are a lot less civil than I have ever been here.
You go ahead and get along with the Righties. Good luck with that when November comes along. May the wisdom of your approach be judged by its results.
Ciao.
