Man, I hope I don’t look like that when I’m thinking.
Of course, in a situation like that, I might do better thinking were I getting up to date information on what was going on. But we’ve been down this road before and clearly you remain firm in your defense of the man.
Lots of things you might say about ol’ Libby. Those persistent rumors about him and Michelle Malkin (you know, the cheerleader outfits, and stuff…) for instance. But I don’t think yoiu can fairly say that he remains “firm in his defense of the man”. His ferocity does not burn like crystal napalm, but still…
As an American, I agree. Libertarian ideas about Supermen and socialism gone insane is just counter to the whole Canadian way of life, even if it is through the medium of song!
In retrospect, I regret that post. I allowed my emotions to respond to the spirit of of the moment. In fact your cite shows me that over the past several years I’ve changed. I can only take so much of the futile Bush bashing over the trivialities like those Liberal pointed. “Is it okay…?”. I’m not moralizing here. I just think criticism with civility is preferable.
Point taken
I used that word “treasonous” somewhat loosely with the qualifier “somewhat”. After all, I’ve heard Bush described as a traitor so often the meaning of the word around here becomes watered down.
If you have to ask, you shouldn’t be participating in this thread. Start over and read the OP. You’ll find the answer in quite a few other posts as well.
“Somewhat treasonous?” “A little bit treasonous?” “Only treasonous on the weekend?”
I can’t think of a construction that really makes sense for a modified treason. Perhaps it’s like pregnancy.
I’m sure it has probably happened, but I would guess that the number of times Bush has actually been called a traitor by someone here at the SDMB is extremely, extremely low.
Are you stalking me now!!! Aaaah, they’re all out to get me! Mods! Mods! I need a ruling that I can pull out and show people later! … Oh no, the mods are agin me too! Aaahhhh!
Seriously, this was so much of a stretch, I fear you may have pulled something. Besides which, the phrase “really pregnant” does have a specific meaning and is often used. Do you need me to explain that to you?
How about “That doesn’t really make sense.” Can you claim that you’ve never heard that before?
