Okay, I can’t seem to resist this, perhaps because it’s just so incomprehensible to me. Isn’t there any response other than what he did that wouldn’t have freaked out the kids?
Seems to me that there are a huge number of possible responses that wouldn’t have involved freaking the kids out at all. People excuse themselves all the time without causing much upset at all.

I say that posts like the OP are irrelevant and not worth heeding.
Outsiders opinions are not of any consequence. It’s not their country that is being trashed. It’s not their leaders who are defending torture. It’s not their leaders who are grabbing people and holding them indefinitely without recourse.
It’s not their country that is killing civilians in a country that they invaded on a flimsy pretext. It’s not their solders being killed at a rate of 50-100 a month. It’s not their country that is spending billions on a needless battle and going into debt to do it.
So when those like the OP are affected in any real way by what is said about the leaders of a country by the people in that country I’ll listen, and not before.
My problem with Bush bashing is that the voters who reelected the son-of-a-bitch aren’t also bashed, along with the Supreme Court justices who installed him in the first place.
