Hmmmmm. 
I never noticed what those arrows do before.
I give it 0.5. Half a point deducted for the smiley, which has no place in a rant.
There would be no problem if the alt text (the text that appears when you hold the mouse over an image) were taken out or shortened. When the arrow icons don’t load, it tries to display the alt text “Go to first new post” so it ends up being wider than the arrow icon itself, and that messes up the thread title spacing.
Mine’s been doing that a lot since I “upgraded” IE. I agree. It’s a pain in the ass.
Queary, do you then right click the defunct image and click “show picture?” I have to do then when I loose, not arrows, but the 2 envelope icons. Once I do that I usually feel better and can surf with peace of mind.
