I have a dog! (pictures included!)

Last night my wife and I found the perfect puppy. This puppy had previously been adopted but the owners did not have enough time for her, so at 5 PM they brought her back to the animal shelter. At 6:30 PM that same day we adopted her. We get to pick her up tonight. We have named her Tortilla (pronounced with the L’s not the Y). We think she might be a beagle/rottweiler mix. If anyone else has any ideas I would be glad to hear them. She is 3 months old and weighs 5.6 pounds.

Sorry, I can’t get the links to work. I have to put them out as normal.

Oh, the precious baby dog!!!

Why TortiLLa?

What a doll! How could anyone give that up!!!

So cute! Can I have her?

We didn’t want to get it confused with the food. We will probably call her Tilla or Orti for short. The name was more my wife’s idea.

No, don’t let Alice have her! I want her too and will trade you delicious cookies in exchange for your new puppy.

Whooza pwecious puppy?!! What a cutie.

You didn’t ask, but if you could use puppy info and training tips, I’m getting a lot of good stuff from the Puppies for Dummies book.

I’ll just keep her until I’ve squeezed out all of her puppy goodness, then when she’s grown you can have her. K?

He looks like Winston ,a half beagle I adopted in March. We call him Winnie the Poop now. You have been warned. He was the hardest dog to house train that I have ever had. He is so cute and friendly that all the neighborhood kids come out to give him pet jobs when we walk.

What a cute pup! Give her lots of ear scritches and tummy rubs.

Am I the only one who had to do a double take on this? I am such a pervert.

:stuck_out_tongue:

Sorry, I can’t give her up even for delicious cookies, no matter how tempting that sounds! I will compromise though. If you bring over delicious cookies, we can all eat them and play with the puppy at the same time. I believe this is people refer to as win/win!

ETA: Thanks for the suggestion of the Puppies for Dummies book. This is the first dog that I will be completely responsible for, so I think that might come in handy.

Does it hate the mailman yet?

Nope… I reread that sentence a couple of times, and giggled.

What a cutie, indeed. May you have a long and happy time with her.

I don’t see beagle or rottie - maybe a red-tri Border Collie? (I’m always one to throw BC in there…)

Any rate - she is a cutie, and I am next in line for her when everybody else is done! Oh… not giving her up? Shoot. Ok, give her scritches from me!

I’m with Fetchund. I wouldn’t think either beagle or rottie.

But what I defintely see is SQUEEE!!! Puppy!!! She’s adorable. Too cute.

I wanna tug on those ears. I’m sure they’re super soft! She’s such an adorable puppy!

Those are not beagle ears.
