I have a half-pound of ground buffalo meat. What should I do with it?

I guess I was inspired by the ground beef thread because it’s probably been years since I bought ground beef. Anyhow, yesterday I bought a pound of ground buffalo meat and used about half of it to make a burger, fried with a bunch of chopped vegetables.

I still have the other half. And I am getting hungry. Ideas?

A half pound isn’t enough. Bison more.

You’re probably right. But that’s all I have, and at $7.99/lb I don’t want it to go to waste!

I dunno but “Starving but strong” is looking for stuff to put in bean soup.

Beef tar-tar?

Persian ground beef kebabs?

How about some tacos?

Meatballs and sauce?
…you made another burger, didn’t you?

Burger

Chili

Meatloaf

Well, 2 out of 3 ain’t bad

Personally, I’d make tacos or burritos out of that.

Heh. Yes, I did. :o With more vegetable-rice stir fry.

But those Persian kebabs reminded me of Turkish kebabs I used to love but haven’t had in ages, so thanks!

Tonight I realised that ground meat is, in fact, not overrated. And quite tasty and versatile, too!

Buffalo burgers are great. Just make some nice hamburgers.

I used to buy ground buffalo in the grocery store once in a while, made great burgers for the two of us. If I had a half pound, I would mix it with an equal amount of good hamburger of some sort and make all new burgers, half buffalo, half ground round/chuck/sirloin, whatever.

I recommend that you buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo buffalo.

I wonder if that would be anything like beefalo. I had a friend once who was (not really but sort of for a joke between us) obsessed with beefalo after he read about it in a body building magazine.

My husband makes really good jerky with it in his smoker. But that’s a lot of trouble for such a small amount of meat.

Eat it, just eat it.
