I have a new favorite football player

It’s kind of strange, because he isn’t even going to be playing football for the next few years. At least not professionally. Pat Tillman, a former safety for the Arizona Cardinals, has turned down multi-million dollar contracts to play a game so that he can join the army Rangers. You can read about it here.

I think that it’s admirable of anyone to serve in the armed forces, especially when our country is at war. I also admire Tillman for doing what he thinks is right. With the kinds of stories about athletes that have been making the news over the past few years, it’s good to hear a story like this.

Hey ** Dignan**, I saw this in yesterday’s paper.

If this is the type of person we have in our Armed Services, then we should feel very proud to live where we do.

I have been a Tillman fan since he was signed by the Cards. He has and still is a class act. Last year he could have made big bucks playing for the Rams. He stayed in Arizona because he felt loyal to the team and Coach McGinnis.

He is a stand up positive role model no doubt.
