Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwww, what a little cutie! My daughter wants a pug more than anything in the world. I informed her that when she has her own place and her own income, she can have any kind of puppy she wants. I don’t need a new baby doggie to torment my poor old baby doggie.
We had considered a beagle as well. Our first choice was a pug - Mr. Athena has wanted a pug for years - but the lack of local breeders and the high cost of pug puppies had turned us off. Beagles, however, are ubiquitous around here. Either would make a good companion for our current dog, a 3 year old Shiba Inu.
I opened up Friday’s paper to see an ad for 2 female pug puppies at a reasonable price, 20 miles from us. We had her by Saturday noon.
She’s the most babylike puppy I’ve ever had, and I’ve had a few. She had three phases - “Hold me!”, “Let’s Play!”, and “Sleeeeeeeping.” So far, our other dog absolutely loves her. They’ve figured out how to play together even though she’s smaller than most of the older dog’s toys.
Soooo cute Athena! Give her a kiss and snuggle from me!
I want to get another furbaby myself, but I just started a new job and have absolutely no time to spend with a new puppy. Ironic, isn’t it? Before, I wanted another baby and didn’t have the money, and now, I have the money and no time!
If I win the Lotto, I swear I will buy a farm and own around ten dogs. Enjoy the love your new baby brings!
Precious Angel!!! I think pugs are amazingly cute ugly dogs. If I was ever going to have a little dog, I’d have a pug. Or maybe an Italian Greyhound.
And you also have a Shiba Inu! Very cool! I had an Akita many years ago. She was A Good Dog.
I want a puppy, especially since my Sasha dog died. But we’ve got 3 other dogs and the dog family needs to attrit (is that a word?) down before we add another animal.

Awwwwww! She’s so cute! I’ve wanted a pug for years, but they have this silly rule about pets in dorm rooms. C’mon, I’d walk her! I promise I’ll take care of her! I even have a name picked out! (Sassquatch, Sassy for short, to go with my Uncle Joel’s pug, Monster) Can I have one pleeeeeeeese?
Aw, Athena, she is just precious! Welcome to pug ownership. I think you will find it extremely rewarding. They are such sociable little guys…they love everyone. My own particular theory is that they have evolved that way because if they try to growl, their little wrinkles come up and cover their eyes. If I may extend a piece of advice from the voice of experience, don’t put a collar on her. Use a harness only. Pugs tend toward tracheal problems and collars make matters worse. My two pugs go bare-nekked while inside and the snore factor is greatly reduced.
It ought to be illegal for puppies to be so cute. I know all about the snuffly, snertly noises. That’s pug talk and means “give us a kiss, mums!”
Another piece of pugly advice: They are total pigs and will eat everything and anything, so even if they make cow-eyes at you at the dinner table, you must be strong and keep the table treats to a minimum. Otherwise they balloon up into little curly-tailed zeppelins – not good.
Enjoy your new baby. You picked the best breed in the world. (Here come the flames!)
Personally, I don’t care for pugs, but you just can’t say no to a puppy, no matter what breed is.
I never considered myself an animal person until I realised that the one thing I miss more than anything else after moving out of the house for college, is not my parents, not the home-cooked meals, not the abundance of wide open space, but my dogs. Labradors, three of them, one a black-mix, one a brown-mix, and one a pure yellow Lab.
My tough guy facade crumbles at the mere mention of sweet, loveable, friendly dogs…
I have wanted a pug for so long… I would hug him and squeeze him and call him Chester.
We have one dog and two cats right now. No time nor space for a puggy puppy. As soon as we get a house with a yard (or, god forbid, we lose our dear Hockey) I GET A DOG OF MY OWN.
My mother bought me a stuffed pug doll to help with the disappointment.
Ohhhhhh! Awwwwwww!! Wookit da widdle puppy face isn’t she just the mosht pweshus thing EVER!! Puppeee! She’s sooo kyooote! I just wants to shnuggle her to bitses and give her lots of kisses and stuff. She is so freaking Adorable!!
Can you tell small furry animals are my biggest weakness?
