i have had it. i have been polite to idiots who feel they know better than everybody else. i lived through watergate, iran-contra and numerous other nasty bits of history. but since the inauguration, fools seem to be coming out of the woodwork.
i live in maricopa county, az. we have had ev meachem (he liked to call black kids pickaninnies) and joe arpaio (who needs no introduction). i am used to nuts in office. but this person has made it 200,000 times worse. i have had enough. i am not going to ignore you anymore. i will call bullshit any time, any place.

Possibly, but it’s not like we’re freaking out or anything. We’re not really feeding them.

And there seems to be a bit of a habit of some Dopers lately to do this, so I dunno.

I’ll also say one thing, though. If I’ve been banned from a site, I will often switch to this style in order to not look like the same person. People pay attention to things like that more than the content, it seems.

well, back when dinosaurs ruled the earth, and the internet was brandy new, the fashion was not to use capital letters unless you were shouting. my genius (really, he has 4 and 3/4 doctorates) brother had a connection that went to dartmouth college and then to a lot of other schools. most people didn’t even know it existed. yes, i am that old. but a habit that old is hard to break.
besides, i need the other hand to hold my (perfectly legal) blunt.

i worked very hard to get hillary elected. i have expressed my opinion. i am now upset that i went to the dispensary and some moron was hollering about “hillary clinton is a pedophile”. and i went to him and explained he is an idiot to his face. it is generally against my nature to confront folks. things like that shouldn’t happen at a dispensary. it should be a quiet, friendly place.

what i am saying is, politeness is out the window. i intend to be rude and i will not feel bad about it.

To be honest, being in Arizona, it would have been difficult for the OP to move the needle out of the Trump side no matter what s/he did. During the campaign the Clinton camp was all breathless about the prospect of AZ going blue in the presidential race for the firs time since Bill Clinton. It would have been smarter to put their efforts into a couple of the rust belt states instead.
