Chemo ended on October 20. I still think I look a bit like a shorn sheep, but tomorrow (coincidentally, our 20th wedding anniversary) I will be going to work for the first time since August without anything on my head. I’m a bit nervous, but we went to the mall today and I went hatless to get used to the idea.
I looks great. It comes back fast. A year ago I saw a friend in much the same state as you - and a year later (she is someone I see once a year - she lives out of town) - lots of curly locks.
A lady in my support group had hers come in black and white, and another friend of mind told me to expect the Chemo Curl.
My son likes to rub my head…I guess the crewcuttiness of it feels neat.
Oh, NinetyWt, I’m hooked up with earrings. My step-mom makes jewelry, so I told her I needed big ol’ dangly earrings to go with my bald scarf-covered head. She was happy to oblige.
You look very nice! And speaking from experience(more surgeries to my brain than I care to remember), your son’s right, that hair right now is the softest you’re ever going to have. Think peach fuzz.
Okay, you’ll have to report on your hair’s condition after it comes in a bit. Mine was board straight, then came in like Bozo’s wig  now it has calmed down a bit to simply mildly curly. It also is a few shades darker brown than it was.
I never could stand to wear earrings while I was bald/wearing a scarf. I felt too piratey/Mr. Cleanish. Now I’m back to wearing earrings.
I’m keeping mine cut short for the time being, since as it grows out curly I look like a dandelion gone to seed. I hope yours comes in very obedient!
