When I went out this afternoon, as I always do, I picked up a book to take with me. You never know if the car is going to break down, or if you will have to wait somewhere or I may even decide to eat dinner while I’m out.
When I got home I discovered that the book wasn’t in the car and figured that I must have put it down somewhere before leaving. I spent a while searching everywhere that I could think that I may have put it but couldn’t find it.
Finally I went back out in the car and retraced my steps to find that I had put the book in the return slot at the DVD shop with the returned DVDs.
The book? Jeff Davidson’s The 60 Second Organiser: Sixty Solid Techniques for Beating Chaos at Home and at Work.
Anyone else managed one?
Why are you posting this here? Reader’s Digest pays like, big bucks for such stories!
Me, I got nothin’.
Some years ago I was at a local fair, played a game, and won a mirror with writing on it. I sat the mirror on the roof of the car as we prepared to leave but forgot about it. When we pulled away it fell off and broke.
The writing on the mirror read, “shit happens”
I had a happy one happen to me just today. Well, almost happy, because I’m out an $80 pair of sunglasses but I didn’t really like that pair much anyway. I only had them because they had been my last pair of regular eyeglasses before I had my eyes lasered, and the $80 was the cost of having polarizing lenses put in.
Anyway, I had left the sunglasses behind in a rental car last week, and today I went back to the rental office to check the lost and found, and they weren’t there. But I did find a copy of a CD I had been missing for years, and they said I was welcome to it!
