Agreed.
No. A fucking ‘retard’, as you so eloquently put it, would vote for a narcissistic, psychopath who would rather be dictator than actually, you know, lead the country.
Regardless of your personal feelings, show a little respect. He’s the President and you should call him by his full name.
Kinda lazy posting. How hard is it to spell out Donald?
At least one item I’d add to that excellent list would be his early claims that hydroxychloroquine would probably turn out to be a “game-changer.” He had no business saying that, as he lacked the professional background and should have listened to his far more skeptical experts. But since the idea of an immediate wonder-drug solution fit nicely into his narrative of “oh, it’ll all turn out to be nothing,” (and god forbid if the drug did turn out to be a miraculous cure and he hadn’t positioned himself to take credit for it!), he had to flap his jaws about it.
I don’t think most of Trump’s mistakes are attributable to the fact he’s a Republican. While there is probably something of a natural partisan divide on some specific policy matters like mask-wearing (personal freedom vs. social responsibility) and opening up (giving short-term benefit to the economy vs. protecting longer-term societal interests), actions like prematurely touting an inadequately reviewed drug are just stupid. If we ever had a Democratic president as dumb and as self-promoting as Trump, I could imagine them behaving similarly to him in mishandling this crisis.
FiveThirtyEight has fifteen models of predicted deaths; only one predicts a flattened curve by August while three say close to or above 200K is possible.
No, but the fact that we have a president as unqualified as Trump is 100% attributable to Republicans.
No arguments from me on that.
All Democrats would do by impeaching Trump again is 1) fail, 2) look vengeful and ineffective, and 3) galvanize opposition who could claim an attempt to nullify the November election. There’s no upside and a serious risk of re-impeachment backfiring badly.
Just vote Trump out. Unless Biden implodes by yammering about 200 billion Covid-19 deaths or perseverating about extraterrestrial mind control* he should win the race.
*it might not matter even if he did, given Trump’s penchant for loony remarks.
This right here is the truth
With regards to the OP, another issue is that Pence and the GOP are all in on the current path. If they wanted to change course they have the power to do so. I highly doubt that giving “Pence a chance” would have meaningful differences. He’s beholden to the same voters, cut from the same cloth, and committed to the same power grab. The senate is also firmly committed to staying the course.
Replacing Trump with Pence would not make a lick of difference wrt pandemic response. Even a successful impeachment (which would never happen) wouldn’t save a single life.
The best we can hope for, from a life-saving perspective, is,as the situation gets worse, for Republicans to slowly come around, start lying about their previous accusations of “hoax” and their strong resistance to any measures whatsoever, and start saving their own skins (as Trump who now wears a mask and lies “I’ve never been against masks but I do believe they have a time and a place,” is starting to).
When it becomes untenable to pretend that the pandemic isn’t a deadly national crisis, the Republican party will have “always been at war with Eastasia.”
I promise everyone here I’m not being snarky nor sarcastic. Elections are coming up along with flu season.
Who should I vote for that can beat a virus?
Hard to believe you’re not being snarky here.
Vote for people who are more likely to rely on medical and scientific experts. They won’t ‘beat’ a virus in the sense of destroying it but they can limit and control the spread of viruses - just like every other major industrialized nation in the world that choose to listen to medical and scientific experts over hucksters.
Even among those nations, the ones that have done relatively poorly in COVID response are leaps and bounds ahead of the US.
Joseph R. Biden.
Or vote for Trump if you feel he should be rewarded for the misery his inaction has caused.
If you think that injecting Clorox or sticking a light up your ass will cure Covid, then vote Trump.
If you think that masks are a hoax until they are not, then vote Trump.
If you think it’s a good idea to pass along advice from someone who says sex with demons causes disease, then vote Trump.
However, if you want someone who actually reads intelligence reports, and listens to medical and scientific experts in order to fight this pandemic… Then vote Biden.
It’s just that simple.
I am just waiting…
- To see how bad the traitors Trump and McConnel ratfuck the electtion
- To see if they can ratfuck it bad enough to actually win
- To see what the Boogaloo Boi and Ammosexual assholes do if he loses
I’m voting in person at a local polling place because I expect the mail to be all ratfucked to Hell.
At this point I really hope some Trumpster “vote monitor” tries to get in my face. Go ahead. Piss me off.
Yes, Trump deserves a big reward for the hard work he’s done. Let’s take a burden off his shoulders so he can relax and spend more time playing golf. I recommend all Trump supporters vote in a way that gives Trump a well-deserved rest. He’s earned it.
Nice. Because no other president played golf. But I get what you’re saying.
No other president bitched and whined and tweeted and complained about presidents playing golf…
… and then turned around and played MORE golf than any other president.
But that’s Trump; a hypocritical lying asshole with more projection than a multiplex.
