Would that be the “wide stance” made popular by the Republican Party?
From what I’ve seen of her beliefs, that is kind of where she stands.
When it’s all you have to go on, then it reflects poorly on them. If that was one entry followed by a a detailed analysis of War and Peace…that would be different. I didn’t have a high opinion of 18 year old males when I was one. I consider idiotic comments to be par for the course.
Though I will also say that I don’t give a fuck about Levi. What he and Palin’s daughter do or don’t do doesn’t matter one bit to me.
Can you provide some evidence to back that statement up?
Huh? Where are you getting that. The article just says wrote it on his myspace page.
He sounds like a real winner. Definitely a Cops episode in waiting. I think it’s an exceedingly bad idea to force the daughter to marry this dude, and it shows a mother who’s more concerned with appearances than what’s best for her daughter.
Still, as it pertains to the election, it’s small potatoes, and it’s a political loser to make an issue of her parenting skills. We know she’s a bad person and a questionable parent, but the political conversation has to focus on pure policy issues, her lack of qualifications and her history of abusing power. The more attention is focused on the Jerry Springer drama, the more it makes her look like a victim and distracts attention away from far more serious and relevant concerns about this candidate.
What Cisco means is that on a MySpace page, there are radio buttons to choose from for demographic/personal details in the personality-revealing sidebar, such as “Relationship Status” (of which “in a relationship” is one choice) and for “Kids?” (of which “don’t want kids” is a choice).
Really? After umpteen threads on her über-Christianity, her support of teaching abstinence-only sex education, her emphasis on her version of family values, and her response to her own daughter’s teenage pregnancy? She’s a died in the wool Mrs. Grundy, and probably a massive hypocrite to boot (the louder the exclaiming about their personal virtues, the better chance they are breaking their own rules every chance they get, in my opinion). If you need me to go find a bunch of cites to back that up, I will politely decline, and you can think whatever you like of my intellectual honesty.
Oh. Ok. I’m not familiar with MySpace.
IOW, you’re making shit up. I thought so.
Does anyone else think it was kind of inappropriate for McCain to go out and bearhug that boyfriend yesterday and treat him like family? It looked like he was being congratulated for knocking up a teenage girl. Very weird.
I’m just so incredibly sure that the daughter of a very extremely anti-abortion fundamentalist Christian governor who is attempting a bid for Vice President of the United States decided 100% on her own to have this kid and marry this boy.
Why, I can’t imagine at all that there was any pressure from Governor Mom who opposes all abortion, even in cases of rape, and who thinks that parental consent for a teenage girl to get an abortion should be mandatory.
There’s just no way that the abstinence-only, extremist beliefs of someone who supports an organization (Feminists For Life) with a campaign called “The Pill Kills” would ever try and coerce her pregnant teenage daughter into keeping the baby.
Course with a story like this in the public eye, everyone will forget about the fact that Governor Supermom has a 5 month old son with Downs Syndrome, and not even ask who the family values champion is paying to take care of him.
Part of me wishes that McCain wins, just so we can see what’s going to happen with Levi. I seriously doubt that Bristol and Levi will remain in Alaska, and they are going to have to find a job for him so they can have a good traditional family with their own home near Mrs. Palin. What kind of job can an 18 year old hold that will support a family near D.C.? What kind of hijinks will he get up to? The stories will be my consolation prize if Obama loses.
So what should McCain have done instead, gone out there and bitch-slapped him?
How about NOT having a very public photo-op involving the boy?
McCain should have ignored him. Bristol’s dad should have bitchslapped him.
Now THAT I can agree with.
If McCain had pointedly ignored him while greeting the rest of the Palin family, you guys would be all over that as well. He’s damned if he does, damned if he doesn’t.
Godawmighty can you imagine if the Obama’s daughters were older and one were knocked up and they brought the baby’s daddy with them. Shite what a field day the Pubs would have.
Yeah–and the next time they show a picture of the family, FOXNews could use the caption “Obama’s Baby Mama AND Baby Baby Mama.”
A basketball player (what is the basketball equivalent to “rink rat?”) who likes to get up all thuggish and talk dirty on MySpace. There would be Republican women fainting in the streets.
