I have uninstalled X software. (A Vista question)

Every time I log into my computer a window pops up telling me that I’ve uninstalled my HP software (the advanced applications for using the scanner* part of my printer-scanner-copier thingie).

Yeah, no shit? You think it’s because when I upgraded to Vista you made me uninstall it? Ok. And now that you’ve announced it a hundred billion times, maybe you could shut up about it already? I never used that software anyway, I don’t GIVE A CRAP that it’s uninstalled. SHUT UP ALREADY!!! How do I turn this off!!!

*I always do scanning through the interface in Photoshop, so I don’t need their special software.

i would do an msconfig and make sure that program is unchecked. a registry clean is also a good idea

Aha! I found it in msconfig and unchecked it. Will see what happens next time I reboot.

If that doesn’t work, or if you want to do a cleanup anyway, try TuneUp Utilities which has a very nice trial (and works with Vista). It’ll do a registry cleanup for ya.
