Removing scanner from Photoshop

I have a feeling that this is a stupid question, but…

I got a new scanner. The old one is still listed in Photoshop. I keep accidentally selecting it. How do I get rid of it? I’ve googled, can’t find anything.

I’ve got Windows XP and Photoshop CS2.

IIRC, the scanner has its own software, linked to through Photoshop at the twain32 selection option. If that is the case with your PC, then remove the software program used by the old scanner in ‘Add & Remove Programs’.

It should be removed if you uninstall the scanner’s software through windows control panel. PS builds a list of twain devices every you start it so it should disappear.

Failing that, you could create an action so that you can activate the scanner by hitting an F key and then there would be no chance of you selecting the wrong scanner.
