nay! I vote against you changing your name. I like it.
Sorry

Simply explain that the “D” stands for Dan, and you’re acknowledging the Jutlandese, Sjaellanders, Bornholmians, etc.
Oh, and also, anyone who responds to one of your posts with “huh huh, I guess RNATB really IS really not all that bright! HAW HAW HAW!” is the least clever person on earth and should be slapped upside the head with a rotting hagfish.
Well, he won’t be taking your name, since it’s Already in Use. HAW HAW HAW!
See Question 10 on this page to find out if you’re correct.
One situation in which moderators would probably award a name change would be a case in which an apparently innocuous moniker became tainted by real-world events. For example, if a criminal by the name of Bryan Ekers were to became a notorious tabloid fixture, our Bryan Ekers should be allowed to adopt a new alias. Then again, he might relish the irony…
Since I’ve been Sternvogel on many sites in my five years as a computer user, I offer to transfer my option for an SDMB handle change to RNATB (or anyone else) should Squink’s proposal (or coven’s revision thereof) be adopted as board policy. I’ve already been responsible for Dolores Claiborne’s metamorphosis into Dolores Reborn, and have thought of several other usernames I’d like to see adopted by Dopers.
I’m still bitter that I didn’t think of “Czarcasm” before slythe did.
I always thought it would be neat if someone could get a name change for every 1,500 posts s/he made. I think that could work…though it may encourage spamming.
At time of writing, the outpouring of “but I like your name”-ness and a lack of ideas for a new name make it unlikely that I’ll switch… but since I haven’t gotten an official response from someone in a big hat yet, it appears somewhat academic…
Hey!
I used up alot of neurons in my gray matter to come up with your current user name and this is the thanks I get?
Maybe I will change MY username to **What am I? Chopped Liver? ** or How Do YOu Like Them Apples?
In the spirit of what Ellis Dee suggested, why can’t we “sponsor” other Dopers who want a third name change? I don’t think I’m ever going to change from wolf_meister, so you can tell the moderators, or the powers that be, or the admins, or the Trilateral Commission that I forfeit my right to a name change and you can have yet a third SDMB name.
Ha!! We told you not to change your name! But did you listen to us? Noooooo! I even painted my kitchen yellow as a last-ditch dramatic gesture[sup]*[/sup] designed to make you reconsider your decision, but it did no good.
Now here you are, crawling back, begging for your old username back[sup][/sup], hoping that we’ll just roll back the clock, no questions asked. Well, I for one would never be able to think of you as dutchboy108 again[sup]*[/sup]. Not after all we’ve been through.
Got… something… in my eye…
[sup][/sup]Note: this is technically a lie.
[sup][/sup]This is too.
[sup][/sup]I have a problem.
But Chicken of Bristol is, I think, still available.
Or “Chicken of San Francisco.”
BTW, “San Francisco Chicken” is really tasty – we have it regularly when we eat out at our local diner.
Oh look, something shiny…
Aaaagh! I can’t take it anymore. Must… post… joke…
But I shouldn’t.
But I must!
Every time I see the two usernames together, this same damn joke comes to mind. The yellow paint is just the straw that broke the camel’s back.
Did you hear about the new hue of paint?
It’s called Blonde. It’s not very bright but it spreads easily.
ducks and runs
What two usernames? Really Not All That Dutchboy is obviously one, but damned if I can figure out the second one.
Yeah, those one.
Ah, got it. I’m a little slow today – it must have been the paint I put in my morning coffee.
How about this idea-You pick the first name change, and the Moderators pick the second.
Now that … is wonderfully evil. How 'bout something like “Cookie the Wonder Squirrel”?
but, the least you could do is laina hand and offer your extra name change to him? HAW HAW HAW
:ducks:
So I was reading the “What is Og?” thread and thinking about a thread I started a while back which was essentially the same…
… and it occurred to me that Og would be a really cool user name, if I was switching, which apparently I’m not.
