I just bought a new car. !

Didn’t even mean to do it, even though I had been thinking about it for almost a year.

I got a Dodge Intrepid R/T, metallic silver with a black leather interior, PS, PW, 4WABS, Sunroof, 4-disk CD player, 9 speaker Infinity ™ surround sound, 8-way Power Seats.

3.5L “Magnum” V-6 w/ auto-stick.

It purrrrrrssssss!

I drove around for 2 hours after taking delivery.

The dealer had a buyer lined up for my Jeep; a guy looking for reliable transportation for his 19 year old daughter heading off to college.

They came in and looked over my Jeep while I was waiting on credit approval, and she fell in love with the Jeep the moment she laid eyes on it. Here dad was a bit hesitant over the high mileage, but the fact that I had every receipt for every service and bit of work I’d had done on her sold him.

So I got almost full Blue Book on my truck as a trade in, 7.9% financing, and a new car.

Plus, I have a dinner date tonight with Kelly, the 19 year old cutie who got my Jeep, with her dad’s complete approval.

My head’s still spinning.

Life is good for ExTank. Congratulations!

Can I buy your ex-tank from you? I have a tendency to lose my fenders too often in parking lots. I’d love to win a bout with an SUV for once!

What model Jeep was it?

It was a '93 Jeep grand Cherokee Laredo, 2WD.

I bought it used in Lafayette, LA, Oct 18, 1996.

The previous owners used it for weekend runabout, and traded it in when they had a kid and needed to reduce expenditures.

I put 63,000 miles on it in 4 years of driving around the country with my job. It’s been to the top of Pikes Peak twice, and other than the thermostat giving out last winter, hasn’t given me a lick o’ trouble.

I like my new car  alot!

But, in a way, I also miss my Jeep :frowning: .

She was (IS, DAMMIT!) as damned fine truck.
