I just got into Yale! No, my daughter did.

*Woo hoo!

Little Pianola just placed into the most exclusive public high school in the five boroughs of NYC…if we decide to matriculate, she’s in with the smartest kids in the smartest city in the world!*

Thge above was what I posted 4 years ago after little Pianola was accepted at Stuyvesant High School.

Today she found out she won Early Acceptance at Yale College.

Of the Early Acceptance submissons, 800 students were accepted outright. 800 were rejected outright. and 3,000 were “deferred” – meaning stuck in a Limbo where they have to apply to other colleges (Harvard included) and see who bites. Yale may still possibly say “yes.”

But we’re all boorishly pleased here. Yale is the Ukulele Lady’s and my Alma Mater, and Pianola has been focusing on going there for years and years. She is deliriously happy.

So am I.

Oh, a legacy. She and George Bush.

Seriously, congratulations. I get to do the college application thing with my oldest next year.

She’s a little brighter than Bush.

Aren’t we all?

Yee-Ha, Pianola. Do good and kick the smart quotient of yer parents out into yond!

Wishin’ the best of celebrations for the Ukelele camp tonight.

Wait a minute! I distinctly remember a thread where you were reading her bedtime stories just a few years ago. Has it been that long?

Congrats.

Congratulations! That is where my grandfather went to medical school. In fact, I’m sitting in his old chair right now with the Yale logo on it.

Sweeeet! Your baby girl is making you proud…again! Congrats to her!

Only a little brighter? My condolences. :stuck_out_tongue:

My kid’s attending a class on lock-making at the local community college too!

Dont blame you for being proud mate, you wouldn’t be human if you were’nt

But I’d be a bit wary about matriculating if I were you,I was told that it made you blind if you did it too often.

“We all” elected him in the first place, not once but twice. So I don’t know if that’s true.

Congrats to you and your wife!

How fantastically exciting!

Er, not all of us. But let’s not waste time on him. Congrats to pianola! She must be very excited.

Congrats! A little Eli-ette! Good genes, you two! Take all the credit

Congratulations! I was trying to think up a good back-handed compliment for the new Eli, but it’s too early in the morning.

Rivalries aside, she got into a great school, and I’m sure she’ll find it a fantastic experience.

Nice work!
-Stuyvesant HS class of 1993

Ah Yale, I miss the days of making pre-med students cr… I mean, teaching them organic chemistry.
Congrats! Crime in New Haven is probably not quite as bad now as when you all where students there. There’s also some new buildings that have been put up. Should be a good experience.

Huge! Congratulations!!

Congrats Ike and all. Ain’t it wonderful when all the hard work over the past 18 years or so pays off? What does she intend to study?

Damn! That’s some mighty high praise!

My son just got accepted to UofI for engineering, so now he has to choose between there, Purdue, and Wisconsin. (My youngest is pissed, because now we are looking at her, and she has no clue what she wants to study where.)

I assume, like me, you are recommending pianola enjoy the rest of her senior year, because she’s gonna be working her butt off next year!
