I recently read somewhere that sarcasm is one of the most destructive forces in a marriage.
I don’t like that Mr. Rilch would say such cynical, ugly things about his wife. Hell, I’m the biggest pain in the ass alive, but I don’t think it would be appropriate for Mr. Cranky to deride me about it. Not to his mom or to the mailman or to my face or behind my back. And otherwise, we’re both very sarcastic, cynical people. I just don’t feel it should be excused when someone turns that against one’s spouse.
I hope this is one of the issues he works on in the future. That troubled me as much as anything else about your situation.
