I just plucked an aberrant hair from my chin.

I’m 32, light skinned and not in the least bit hairy. Behold! A black hair about half an inch long poised menacingly on my chin. I slew the beast with my tweezers.
What the hell is going on? I’m too young for menopause, right? RIGHT???
My friend says menopause can cause facial hair. Ohmygid.
Anyone else out there have little unwanted hairs popping up on their face?

I don’t have one popping up; I have one that’s hanging on.

See, as a normal guy with 40 starting to appear on the far horizon, my hairline isn’t quite where it was when I was in my 20’s. It’s been creeping back, ever so slowly, with one exception. One, single hair that is about an inch and a half further down my head than all the others. It’s like some sort of genetic freak of a superhair, clinging steadfast to my scalp. Quite bizarre. I look at it and wonder why whatever powers it possesses couldn’t have been shared with all it’s fallen brethren. I’ve often been tempted to pluck it, but then I get all worried that it might be the anchor that’s keeping all the other hair from popping out, all at once.

Better not take a chance.

Well, I have one too and it’s been popping up for about the last 10 years. Just one, I tweezer it out and that gets rid of it for about a month, then there it is again. So far it’s the only one.

I’m 50 and experiencing signs that the menopause might not be too far away. I don’t think you have too much to worry about yet.

I had one of those when I was about 30.

A decade later it has brought along a dozen friends.

This doesn’t bode well for the future. Unless I want to join a sideshow.
