I just put a bid on a pistol over at GunBroker.

I just put a bid out on a SigSauer P239 chambered in .357 SIG. The owner claims he only put 200 rounds through it, and it appears to be in new condition. Even at 1,000 rounds it would be a steal at the price I bid.

I have wanted this particular handgun for a long time, and tax returns being the wonderful things that they are I have the means to get it. Hopefully I’ll win, although I just barely topped the previous bidder and am willing to go no higher, so we’ll see.

If I win it’ll be a good gun at a good price, which is all anybody can ask for. I’m pretty excited at the prospect of getting this piece. It’s like getting 2 weapons in 1 because I can simply drop in a .40 S&W barrel and voila! it’s a different gun.

Incidentally, has anyone else ever gotten anything from GunBroker? I’ve heard nothing but good things about the website, and if this goes smoothly I’ll have to find some other stuff I want.

How good of a price? 357 Sig is an expensive round unless you reload, and if the the .40 S&W barrel is not included, it effectively adds $100-150 to the price. On the other hand, you can never go wrong with a Sig.

To answer the original question, I have never bought anything from gunbroker, but I have not heard any more complaints about it that any other auction site. I would imagine it depends on the seller. I’ve heard that it can be trusted more if the seller is an FFL.

I’ve bought a bunch of stuff including firearms on Gunbroker.com and AuctionArms.com in recent months. I’ve never had any problems whatsoever.

I won.

Let’s just say that I paid a good price for it compared to some of the other ones that I have seen on other sites. For what I have seen the same weapon sold for elsewhere I can get the .40 S&W barrel and still be in the good. I’m happy.

May I ask (out of genuine curiosity, no snark intended) what your attraction is to the .357 Sig chambering?

I like the ballistics, it’s something different from what I have now, and it’s a weapon that’s easy to modify into a totally different weapon with the simple addition of a barrel.

What’s not to like?
