In defense of MrSarcasticus, he’s judging an effects movie on a horrible effect the producers chose to show us.
If one of the effects they’re most proud of is laughable, what do the rest look like?

The ice capades tank twirl bugs me too because you can really only bend the rules so far in a live action movie. Having the hulk flip it over or shove it off a cliff or even a short distange heave-ho would have been acceptable.
I think that the tank scene was just trying to be true to the original comic book. I do believe Hulk twirled and tossed many a tank by its turret. Of course, if Ang lee was being true to the comic , there wouldn’t be any of this nonsense about DAVID Banner.
Much cooler(and more realistic) is when:
Hulk breaks off the top of the tank and uses it as a “hammer” to smash up another tank. This shot is so much more impressive, but is too cool to spoil.
But IMHO, both actions work within the adrenalin rush of the sequence. Hulk just keeps getting more and more pissed off, and it is just plain cool when he does this stuff.
