They should have realized something was wrong when Nessie demanded $3.50 from them.
It’s not the BBC who is responsible, but channel 5 (or just five).
That’s Channel 5, not the BBC.
I saw Ogopogo once.
[sub]Actually, it was a persistent wake – apparently common in Lake Okanagan – that looked like a serpent. I understand how so many people have been fooled.[/sub]
In my experience I have observed that quite a few Americans think that only the BBC runs TV and radio stations in the UK.
That’s what I thought. . .I thought the stations were like
BBC2, BBC3, BBC5
All state broadcasting.
BBC has eight TV channels ( what you would call" stations").BBC1 and BBC2 are broadcast on all “platforms” , BBC3 and BBC4, BBC News 24 and BBC Parliament (plus two children’s channels) are only broadcast on satellite , cable and terrestrial digital .
Then you have the other mainstream stations . These are ITV , Channel 4 and “Five”. The last two names have nothing to do with the actual channel number they broadcast on, only that they were the fourth and five stations to go on air.
If you look at the wider picture of satellite and cable there are actually hundreds of stations that have no connection with the BBC .I must add that all stations apart from the BBC carry commercials. I hope that explains it .
Oh, I know better. I’ve been there. But “BBC” is the default setting in my brain.
As a former Floridian & a one-time Disney Cast Member, I can say with complete confidence that the tourists deserved it. Any tourist deserves that, or worse.
Carry on, old chaps, & jolly good!
Is that when a bunch of Irish won’t go home, even after the funeral?
But seriously, what is a “persistent wake?” I did a Google search and didn’t find anything that defined it easily.
So if they don’t humiliate them, then the tourists have already won, eh?
Nice one!
It was a wake (or wave) that seemed to persist in one spot, as seen from our boat.
:smack: D’OH!
The penny finally dropped.
Nice one, Sean!
I saw a UFO!
I think…
It was luminous and cigar-shaped and it had flashing lights everywhere! I swear!
