I just saw They Might Be Giants!

…and they RULED! It was at Worcester Polytechnic, in the auditorium. It’s one of the best concerts I’ve been to in years. They played most of my favorites (but no Ana Ng! How Could They!?) and fired confetti all over the immense crowd during James K. Polk, and it was just a great show. I don’t paticularly know where I’m going with this, but I really enjoyed my time, and I had a lot of fun! I just got back, and the ride took maybe an hour, and I’m still feeling the rush, but it’s 12:30, and I should be going to bed… just a few more posts…

I’ve never seen TMBG live, but I’ve always wondered, are they odd in a live show. They seem like they would be very entertaining, but odd.

You know, I’m 30 now and it seems like I’ll never see another show live. So, some more details, if you please.

::Lighter held over head::

Totoro, ya bastard! :stuck_out_tongue:

Where’s my t-shirt?

Totoro-I envy you!

Tell me, did they do “Particle Man”?

There’s been much talk about this latest spate of shows over on alt.music.tmbg…did they do much stuff off of “No!” or “Mink Car?”

::sigh:: The John’s never seem to hit the midwest. I haven’t seen them since October of '99. To quote, “Life is unfair…”

I love those guys!

Hey, whatever happened to 2NU? I loved them too!

Damn Americans. I hate it when you guys make really god stuff!

… erm “good stuff”

Damn Australians. I hate it when we don’t preview.

Oh I hate you!!! Oh man… I’m so jealous :frowning:

So I guess this means they’re touring? Is there a list somewhere of cities?!?

I hate you.

They came up to Fargo once, as the opening band for Bloaty and the Whofish or somesuch.I think it should have been the other way around… I left when TMBG left the stage.

I used to go to http://www.tmbg.com for my Johns fix, but it doesn’t seem to work… All I get is a blank screen… :frowning:

It worked for me Particlewill. Maybe try cleaning out your cookies or something? But hey, take that with a pinch of salt I don’t know much about computers.

I saw them a year and half ago up here in Michigan. They were pretty good, but I could tell they were tired of playing their big hits(Birdhouse in Your Soul) and were going through the motions.

Opal-
Try Pollstar.com to find the tour dates (IIRC, most are in NYC and the surrounding area).

particle-
You aren’t alone in your frustration with the tmbg.com site-a week or so ago I went there and got a couple million popup windows! And now I get the page, but it keeps refreshing and none of the links work…argh.

Totoro-
Did they play Dr. Worm? Exquisite Dead Guy? I love those puppets.

I wish the Johns would get their butts down to Texas- I haven’t seen them in forever!

They gave away the puppets in an eMusic contest last year, SB. :frowning:

NO FREAKING WAY!
eh. I am so upset now. Life truly is not fair.
