I just scored TMBG tix

I’ve been a TMBG (They Might Be Giants, for the uninitiated) fan since high school but never had the chance to actually see them play. Friends who have gone to concerts tell me this is a crying shame, as their live shows are a bundle o’ fun. Anyway, a local radio station announced two days ago that TMBG were going to be playing Columbus in about a month. Tickets went on sale this morning at 10 AM, and I had my pair by 10:03.

Babysitting has been arranged; all systems are go! And, bonus, it’s going to be in what I understand is a pretty cool concert venue; it’s SRO and with the balcony open, can fit about 1700 people. So it sounds like a fun show.

Mundane, pointless… and I had to share. :smiley:

I’ve seen them twice. Good stuff. Bring your dancin’ shoes, and prepare for a conga line.

Have fun! My first concert was a TMBG show back in 1989 or 90. They’re a lot of fun to see.

I think I just hyper-ventilated at the thought that they might come to L.A… Flood is one of the first CDs I ever purchased. Actually, I think it was, officially, the first CD I ever bought. And the Johns grew up in the town over from where I spent my adolescence.

I’ve been to three of them and they were all awesome! Once they brought
out a Giant Drum that they played “Whistling in the Dark” on …

I don’t like TMBG’s recorded music that much, but I saw them at a small club in Charlottesville VA probably 5-8 years ago. They put on an EXCELLENT show. IIRC they had like a Ford full-size van that they bought all their stuff in, NY plates.
