I just surpassed 1GB on Gmail

I wish I had some way of showing you guys a screenshot.
But for now, this is what I see.

You are currently using 1006 MB (101%) of your 1000 MB.

The green indicator is now dark red.
Surprisingly, there have been no warning messages.
And I can still continue to receive and send mail.

Ahhhhh… just felt like showing off…

You are currently using 2 MB (0%) of your 1000 MB.
i guess no one loves me enough to gmail me.

Don’t feel bad, alphaFemale: I’m only using 1% of the 2.0GB I get with Yahoo Plus.

For the love of Og, Cecil and the Sacred Illuminati, Keapon Laffin, are you having frequent and deep philosophical discussions about triple-digit kilobyte pictures or what?

Ahha! I knew it!
The Illuminati exists.

Actually, you’re not far off. There are quite a number of… umm… pictures of questionable repute in the mix.
:o
And we do have scientific discussions like, “If the circumference of the phallic object is x inches, and the length is y inches…”

And I do use my gmail heavily, mostly to chat with my friends during work hours.
Toss in a couple of weird mpegs that people send me including: The Dildo Song, Driveby Farting and Female goatse, you can see why my gmail is packed.

And you haven’t made a second gmail addy to hold all these files because…?

Isn’t a gb technically 1024 somethings or other?

Geez. I’ve had my account for almost two months and I’ve used less than a megabyte…

:o
I’m sure that I have noooo idea what you are talking about.
I made 1GB and thats that.

:stuck_out_tongue:
Oh, and I just got my first warning message:

Your message could not be sent because you exceeded your mail quota.

So there you have it. Gmail apparently blocks your sending ability after you exceed 1015 MB (I found that the message only appears when you are at 102%)

And unfortunately, stuff in your Trash counts.
:frowning:

Well that’s what happens when you get those 57 free porn pics sent to your inbox everyday

Actually 1GB does equal 1024MBs

I’d have hit about 50% fom just sending over the last 2 weeks if I hadn’t deleted the mails as soon as I confirmed they’d sent. Over the next couple weeks, I’d’ve hit 100%, since I don’t think I’ll be changing the sending pattern any time soon.
