I just wet my pants again. *sigh*

I really hate this. Ever since I had Dominic, when I get a bad cough, it makes me pee a little bit. It really pisses me off (no pun intended)…

And I always forget to do my stupid kegel excercises…

Paging ultress… TMI - Code Yellow, bodily fluids - aisle 7

Is it medical, Opal? I mean, have you asked a doctor about it?

Silver Fire, I think it’s pretty common/normal in mothers. Like Opal said, you have to keep up with the kegels.

IANAParent. I don’t plan on ever being a parent.

:knocks on wood:

The more I learn about pregnancy/child birth, the more I respect my mother and genuinely feel bad for being such an asshole to her in my youth. The things you ladies do for us children.

Just reach for “Oops, I Crapped My Pants.”

Opal,
My friend in NC just had to have bladder surgery because she started having problems following her sons birth, then a hysterectomy. She’s 48 I think, but has had problems for years.

Here’s what they did:

Just something to keep an eye on.

Zette

Yeah it all started after Dominic was born… sigh

sneezing
coughing
laughing too hard

I gotta get me some Oops I crapped my pants next time I go to the store.

Your not the only one.

I had a heatstroke when I was 15,
as a result, am incontinent.

If you must cut the grass, do so at
well Below 80 F.

I hate to sound ingnorant here (wouldn’t be the first time) but isn’t there surgery for incontinence?
Not so much for you just yet Opalcat, but for LT.
I thought it was a problem that was fixable, no?

Yes, there is surgery for it. Of course, the kind that most moms suffer doesn’t require surgery. IANAD, so no idea if what LT experiences is fixable by surgery or any other means.

I read somewhere that many of the “products” they sell for urinary incontinence (especially those aimed at older women) like Poise pads do a real disservice to people because it encourages them to think it’s an inevitable and untreatable part of getting older. Thus, they don’t discuss it with their doctor or pursue actual cures. But apparently it is treatable and curable. Fortunately, the pregnancy-induced kind is common enough that it is covered in most pregnancy books, so people don’t find it bizarre or unspeakable.

I had this problem towards the end of my pregnancy, and I’ve noticed it can crop up every once in a while until I kegel again. My bladder tore when my son was born and I had to wear a catheter for a WEEK! Argh!

Your definately not alone. My son is 13 mos and the next one’s comming mid-May. Every time I sneeze… Yuck!
