I Know What Yer Pet is Thinkin'

I’ve been burned too many times around here making assumptions on the gender of anyone who has at least a vaguely ambiguous handle, so I don’t try anymore.

Not a problem, just clarifying.

Bumbazine

waves back…and thanks be to ye also, Bumba (May I call you Bumba though I just met you?

C’mon, Ashes, you’re not nearly excited enough. That should be:

PEEPS!!

:D*

*Smilies brought to you curtesy of Rue

Nuh-uh - should be:
PEEPS!!

And I don’t eat them. Never had one, that I can remember…

Susan
I also like brownies

Thanks, all, for the cat info. I will be taking him to the vet. The extent of what I’ll do for the cat is feed him and scoop his kitty box.

Considering it’s winter and it’s been quite frozen, I doubt that there are any fleas about. Plus I treat the dog for fleas and ticks, so I honestly doubt that it’s an issue. Nor have I seen any evidence of mice, although that is a possibility, considering we live in a very rural area. Personally, I think the butt dragging is done to get under my skin. See, he’s hubby’s cat. The dog is mine. It’s a power play thing.

And HI HillKat - I wasn’t ignoring your newness. I was just being casual. Unassuming. You know, cool. Welcome to the MMP. You do know you’re supposed to gift me with fine chocolates, don’t you??

FairyChatMom - Sorry, didn’t mean in anyway to infer your were ignoring my newness…if you were that seems to me a GOOD thing - sorry if I came across that way - it wasn’t at all intentional.
Please, by all means enjoy these chocolates…
oh, and good luck with kitty.

I didn’t mean to imply that you inferred that I ignored you… or something. There’s logic in there somewhere. I usually try to say howdy to the newbies, because I’m nice and all that… Ask anybody - they’ll tell you. I’m nice. Really. Nice.

Aw, forget it. Just enjoy the wackiness that’s the MMP. I know it’s the only thing I live for.

Woo. People trying to be polite. What is our society coming to?
I think I’ll make spaghetti sauce overnight in the crock-pot, and we’ll have it with salad for lunch tomorrow. Although I could make all the sauce tonight, and eat some for dinner. Hmm. I don’t know what to make for dinner. I should really be organizing my freezer right now. It’s full, but I don’t know of what.

I know I give the impression of spending my whole life doing housework, but the real problem is that I naturally create chaos wherever I am. This means that everything is a) perpetually messy, and b) perpetually being cleaned. And I talk about housework far more than I actually do any.

Condolences to swampy. Sorry about your loss.

But I HAVE to worry (my middle name is worrywart ;)), so how about this: will it be an MMP or a TMP, since Monday is a federal/state etc. holiday?
GT

That’s right, FCM is all about niceness. If she was our host it would be the Monday Morning Nice Post.
If Swampy was hosting, it would be the Monday Morning Snerk Post.
If it was Ex it would be the Monday Morning Grumpy Post.
If it was me it would be the Monday Morning Useless Twattle Post.
If it was Welby it would be the Monday Morning Post That Wasn’t There.
If it was Kallessa it would be the Monday Morning Pun.
If it was any number of other MMPers, it would be the Monday Morning Food Post.
If it was Shibb it would be the Monday Morning It’s Warm Down Here In Florida Post.
Etc, Etc, Etc…

Yes, please do call me Bumba, HillKat. I’m really quite friendly, in a grumpy-old-man sort of way.

I knew I’d missed something…My sincerest condolences Swampy. I know how it feels all too well. I’ve only got one uncle left, (and two aunts, one of whom is leaving shortly). It’s a very sad thing to lose someone who’s been a part of your whole life.

“Grumpy?” I’ll have you know I prefer “curmudgeonly” there, Bumba. I agree with you about welby, though. Not-showin’-up jerk.

I haven’t had much to contribute this week, not having any pets, artsy-craftsy hobbies, or any interest in cooking, so I’ll just offer up a “news” story I wish was true:

Heh.
Follow-up.

My condolences as well, swampy. I don’t have many relatives left above ground either.

Not to worry. Next week’s is “in the can” (I love Hollywood-speak). Unless something better comes up, then who knows what’ll happen? It’s the random wackiness that’s so much fun!

And if it’s not bad enough Soupo doesn’t get to go to school Monday and get his book-learnin’, he’s off today too! For Teacher’s In-Service day. Does “Teacher’s In-Service” really mean “margaritas in the faculty lounge”? I think it should. Being cooped up with 25 or so kids all day? I’d be drinking a lot more than I do. Does vodka and Pepto mix?

And what’s this “Rue DeDay” stuff, HillKat? It’s Mr. Rue DeDay, newby! (Ha! Yeah, I crack me up. Though not as much as “Insert General Tso’s Chicken Here!” Maybe that should be my new sig.)

It’s you Canadians rubbing off on us. Knock it off!

Am I to assume

If it was VunderBob it would be the Monday Morning Boring Post? :dubious:

:smack: DOH! I knew that. But the bunnies DO have the fleas that get “et”. A Saluki breeder friend of mine has to dose her dogs often cause them rascals are faster than the bunnies in Nebraska. Well, fcm will just have ta let us all know what the outcome is, or we’ll just lose too much sleep.

The latest version (CS) has lots of neato auto stuff so by all means con, er, I mean talk the school into it. It’s like any program, the more you use it, the more you’ll understand it.

Anybody else happy it’s almost the weekend?

Tupug

Meh. I never have anything special going on weekends. My GF works Fri and Sat days, and Sun night, so it’s not like we can go anywhere. Her weekend is on Wed & Thurs.

I didn’t make the orange meatloaf last night. About three o’clock this flu/cold/plague I’ve been keeping at arms length snuck past the defensemen and trampled me. I cancelled dinner and karaoke plans, and went home and slept from 6:30 last night until about 7 am this morning. But in regards to the gravy, we always had a lot of it when the meatloaf was cooked in the roaster. I’ll have to try again next week.

Sean - sneezing like someone in a vaudeville act this morning

Everyone’s getting flu. Mr. Lissar is in bed, in preparation for working today for eight hours, and tomorrow and Sunday for 12 hour shifts. Very soon I will bring him tea. See what a good, sweet, attentive wife I am?

Erm… well, tonight I think I’m going out dancing with Driving Husband, and leaving poor Mr. Lissar all alone. I’ll be back by two or three, though. I must remember to pick up earplugs today. I am not going to a club without earplugs. I lost part of my hearing four years ago at a techno club, and I want to keep the rest.

I, for one, am happy the weekend is upon us. I am TIRED! This has been a very long work week.

Only 7.5 hours to go and then I can go home. At least it’s a three day weekend for me. I wanted to make it a four day weekend, but I have too much going on here at work, plus I have a meeting this afternoon. Yesterday, next to nothing was accomplished here because most of the day was spent trying to install some specialized software that I need to use. So, other stuff I needed to be working on did not get finished, or even started!

Greetings to our newbie! I wasn’t ignoring you, just haven’t posted much. I am also nice, at least that’s what folks tell me.

We have dinner and movie plans for tomorrow night, but I am hoping the rest of my weekend is slow and I don’t have to go anywhere. I still need to do my taxes and am really hoping I can do them this weekend.

Well, I better do some work now…

Yeah, the Kid, too. She had a half-day yesterday, is off today and Monday. My tax dollars at work. Here’s it’s called School Improvement Day* - theoretically, the teachers are supposed to be working on the state’s school improvement plan thingie, but my theory is that the school is simply vastly improved by the absence of students.

Today is the WryGuy’s birfday. He has requested meatloaf, smashed potatoes and corn for dinner. I’m also gonna make some homemade chocolate chip cookies 'cus they are his favorite. He is SO easy.

The studio remains clean, but the laundry has gotten out of control again.
*We’ve gotten really out of hand with the PC jargon here in this district. It’s not “recess,” it’s “SPA: Supervised Playground Activity.”

What’s the deal with these MMPs?

I kind of got where the tradition started, but is there a structure or a format? Or only specific people allowed to start them? How about post in them?

I’m curious as to all the details. Anyone want to share?
