There’s this petstore here in Chicago called Paws, where they let the kitties run all around in a big room filled with kitty condos and toys and things. And people can go right in and play with them and pet them. It’s heaven! Except when you have to leave.
My kitty has a new boyfriend! She romps and plays with the cat next door - they play-fight and when they get tired, they sit with their little arms entwined. It is the most adorable thing I have ever seen!
Hehe, mine always like to sleep in my dresser drawer. They hop into an open one and wiggle around behind it to get to the bottom drawer which is their secret catcave.
“Ooh I love my pretty kitty! I go eat kitty’s face now. Yow yow yow, kitty, I eat you!” - my 2 yr. old stepdaughter, chewing on the nose of her favorite stuffed animal, a big black cat. It’s a good thing they don’t allow cats in my building.
Hey, I scoop my boy kitty up, hold him on his back, and say, “It’s a TUMMY!” Then I rub my face all over his tummy and attempt to blow raspberries (that doesn’t work so well with fur, though - but I keep trying!). The girl won’t hold still for that, but she lets me kiss her paws and rub her head between the palms of my hands (“lets” isn’t really the right word for that last one - maybe “requires”).
Coo: “Ooh, how’s my pretty Peach? Does she have a Peach Face? Is she the sweetest most tastiest Peach in the land? Why yes she IS, she IS a peach! She has sweet peach breath, too, she’s my furry little baby, she cries and cries until I pick her up, poor little Peach, she’s so scared that I might forget to love her so she has to cry and cry!”
Smother furry kitty face with kisses.
Repeat, with applicable variation in language, to other kitties - otherwise they feel unloved.
I also like kitties. I have songs about them. I will share them with you now.
–Ahem–
This is a song about my late cat Mickey Mona. It is sung to the tune of Brahm’s Lullabye.
Kitty love, kitty girl,
Mickey Mona, I love you.
You’re a good girl, not a bad girl,
Mickey Mona, I love you.
Kitty LOVE, kitty girl,
Mickey Mona, I love you.
Kitty love, kitty girl,
Mickey Mona, my girl.
And this is is about my current cats, Skunk Marilyn, Goldie Goblin and Cleo Rose. It is sung to the tune of Frere Jacques.
Skunk and Goldie, Skunk and Goldie.
Cleo, too. Cleo, too.
Mommy wants to hug you, mommy wants to kiss you.
Boogie boo.
I also have a song about my dog Bobbie Ranger. It’s sung to the tune of Greased Lightening.
Go, Bob Ranger, you’re burning up the track oh, yeah.
Go, Bob Ranger, go, Bob Ranger!
I’ve had a rough day so I came back to this thread. And the songs make me giggle but I had to be quiet, see, because I’m at work.
So I’m giggling but holding it in and now I’m pretty much just crying w/ laughter. But quietly!
Now if that’s not a good testimonial to this thread, I don’t know what is.
I’m going to go home in a couple of hours and pet my very own little kitty, Chloe. And maybe post a picture of her so you can all enjoy my little missy too.
Here’s one of my kitty songs. It has a dance that goes along with it too.
Hold both hands out in a scratching gesture and rub them on the scratching post. Wave your butt back and forth to the rhythm, as if you had a tail and were wagging it.
Lyrics:
We’re scratching together
Because we’re good kitties!
We’re scratching together,
We think that it’s fun!
We’re scratching together,
We’re really good kitties!
We’re scratching together!
We’re having some fun!
(repeat)
The kitty will join in scratching with you! It’s great fun and excellent Quality Time, plus it rewards the kitty for using the scratching post.
Hello. My name is Rubystreak, and I’m a Kittieholic.
::Hi Rubystreak.::
I have 5 cats and I live in a one bedroom apartment. It’s a lot of work, but it’s worth it because
KITTY LOVE IS THE BEST LOVE!
My cats are waiting at the door for me when I come home. They roll over and give me the belly when I say their names in a goofy voice. They all sleep on and around me in bed at night. My cat Achmed sleeps with his head on the pillow and his body all snuggled up with me. His purring puts me to sleep. I call him The Perfect One and wish I knew a human being so sweet, loving, gentle, responsive, cute, friendly, trusting, and good. Alas, those qualities are rare in the human world, but abound amongst my kitties.
My kitty songs:
(to the tune of the Eurythmics’ Sweet Dreams)
Sweet dreams are made of Dee,
Who am I to dis on Beese?
Travel the world and the seven seas,
Everybody’s looking for catnip.
(I had a cat named Beese who died, but I still have Dee)
(to the tune of Georgie Porgie)
Harley Barley Pudding Pie
Kissed Miss Dee and made her cry
When the cats went out to play
Harley Barley ran away
