I Love This Commercial

There’s a new commercial running for a kid’s Darth Vader costume running that I love. The mask has a microphone/speaker attachment that will change your kid’s voice so it sounds like Vader, which is pretty cool, but the way they sell it is great.

The kid in the commercial puts on his costume and picks up his toy light saber. He walks out of his bedroom and into the hall and his older brother is there, also with a light saber, but just in his street clothes. Lil Darth threatens him and big brother flees with a look of terror on his face!

Then Lil Darth goes to see his father who’s working behind a desk in a shadowy home office. Lil Darth kneels before him and says something like “Master, what would you have me do?” And the dad totally plays along. He leans forward and, in voice like the Emperor’s, says “Take out the trash.”

The final shot shows Lil Darth standing on his back porch. The camera pulls back to show big brother, still terrified, putting the trash in the trash can.

I laugh my head off every time I see it.
