There’s something about this at snopes
I don’t know. I think it’s kind of cool, really. I’ve also heard of a company that will incorporate your loved one’s ashes into ceramics. I keep telling Bluesman that I’m going to make him into an ice cream bowl and a beer mug.
IMHO this is more reasonable than keeping a loved one’s ashes displayed prominently in a container on a mantel. It provides a single small and beautiful gem that commemorates a person’s existence. Some people carry cremains all over the country with them. That’s creepy. Too bad the diamond thing is so expensive.
If others are creeped out by it, you never have to tell them the significance of that diamond.
Lucretia’s idea of ceramics has it’s downside. Image a couple of generations from now when the ice cream bowl and beer mug get dumped for $0.25 at a garage sale! Poor Bluesman!
I am amused by it only for the visual of hearing a descendant say, “What the fuck did you do with the Aunt Anya necklace?!”
Why does this sound like the perfect premise for a B-movie?
