Those meddling kids!
I was strained in my neck and shoulder for a couple days.
I had a pain pump. You dang right I used it without compunction.
I’m of the opinion they kinda rough to the anesthetized human body. Not meaning to, just that that limp noodle that was awake is now out.
(Oh, they do clamp your head still where they have easy access, and assure no movement, asleep or awake.)
I’m glad to see an update from you so quickly.
Hats off to the surgeon who also gave up their Sunday to operate on you.
I just had a conversation with my nurse. Apparently there is a long incision on the top of my head and a drain tube poking out to drain the wound. The nurse had covered my head with a mesh hat to keep the incision and drain tube under control so naturally I was curious what was going on under there. It was unclear to me if my head had been shaved but it has not been. Honestly I would’ve been fairly cool with a shaved head since I have another month in rehab to let stuff grow back
Eeek.
I’m so surprised you’re conversing with us.
Good sign tho’
Don’t fight the nap.
You’ll likely have a nice headache, sooner or later.
I’m so glad that it went well
Thanks, Hijario
Thanks for letting us know, squeegee. I’m glad it went well and hope you heal up soonest.
Yeah, I was going to comment that the facial bruising is pretty much gone.
Oh good grief, that looks painful. I hope the upcoming work does the trick and you feel better.
Now that you’re through it. Maybe you’ll find this funny.

Now that you’ve survived I can chance some humor.
If you see anyone from the surgical team again you should ask how far the pressurized fluid spurted once they opened your skull. If it wasn’t 5 feet you’re an underachiever. ![]()
My GF is a trauma surgery nurse; spurting fluids is a common topic of conversation there. Doesn’t matter what line of work you’re in, there’s always some inside baseball to yak about.
Oh you look great. It looks like you’re healing well. I hope that continues and that the rehab goes well too.
Yep. You look like you’ll do fine. Black eyes go away.
Congrats, that all sounds great. Best wishes for a speedy recovery.
Good to hear everything went well, Anastasia or not.
New fashion fad: mesh hats. Let’s make it happen.
Good to hear you got through it and out the other end. Huge relief.
Glad you’re posting here, keeping us updated. Nice to know you have your priorities straight!
Oh, I found out why the nurse put it the beanie on my head. The beanie popped off all by itself and this is what it looks like:
I assume the part under the bandage is shaved.
I don’t know if this is allowed but I may order an Electric shaver on Amazon and have it delivered to me here at the hospital. My beard already looks pretty bad and it’s not going to get better, And I have a feeling I’m gonna be here at least five more days which is going to make me super crazy; I was already here six days a week ago. It took me six or seven hours on the final day to get out of the hospital and that was with me my son and my girlfriend all pushing to get me out. Horrible horrible horrible.
I may talk to the social worker here and see if I can just go home on my final day rather than back to the rehab place, then I’ll just turn around the next day and check into Rehab rather than wait seven hours to leave my fucking hospital room
@squeegee get well soon!
