Only briefly. Yesterday, I was walking from a coffee shop to my truck down the street. I hear this ranting from behind me. Some guy is walking in my direction behind me. Either he just got off a bus or missed one, but he is making noise. I am trying not to pay attention but he gets louder. I look behind me and says “I hate those damned African Americans! Blah Blah…I’m Puerto Rican…blah blah.” That’s about all I remember. I did not engage him in conversation. I did not want to talk to him. I just stayed focused on getting to my truck.
What’s up with that. He deserves to be pitted, but I have never heard such a PC racist. Or at least such an overt one. Sure, property owners, shop owners will bring up code words in an attempt to appear not racist in the press, but this was just some ranting fool who, for some reason, refrained from the N-word when talking.
