I misspelled "BingoBurringo".

I spelled it in this thread as BingoBurrito because I thought that was his/her name; I had mis-read it. Now, I don’t think that excuses his/her response, but I just wanted to make it clear that I wasn’t trying to insult him/her by deliberately misspelling his/her name.

I started this new thread because that other one was closed before I had a chance to explain myself. (Hell, I was asleep when it was closed.)

Now, if I had been available to apologize, and if he had accepted, would BingoBurringo have been banned?

One can never be 100% certain, of course, but yeah, probably.

He had been warned before by a moderator by his behavior. So this comes as no surprise to him; he knew he was on thin ice, and he still decided to jump up and down.

He was a jerk. Now he can go be a jerk on some other message board.

I’ve nearly done the same thing several times with Bingo. But can you really take someone serious who likes Temple of Doom more than Last Crusade?

Don’t sweat it–at the time that I read his reply to your post, I was thinking his ID was BingoBurrito and couldn’t figure out what he was complaining about for a few seconds.

Well jab1, I explained in an impatient way what you did, and he called me a pathetic shill.

I guess that means we have banned all burritos from the board. :slight_smile:

Incorrect, Barbarian! He didn’t call you A pathetic shill, he just plain called you Pathetic Shill. It was quite possibly the lamest dig I’ve ever seen.

However, I think we’re now bashing the poor boy, which is getting closer and closer to Pit material. Sorry, mods.

I thought his name was burrito too! It was an honest mistake. It certainly didn’t deserve the comeback that it recieved.

And, FWIW, I thought it was Burrito too, I also didn’t know what he was bitching about until I looked at his name closely.

You know, I rarely harp on someone being banned (unless they had the username fatherjohn) but I think it would only be poetic justice if he’s reading this thread, realizes that Jab’s comment was an innocent mistake, and smacks his forehead…

That moment of dawning realization is what I live for.

Many thanks, jab1. The Board’s been really busy and I’ve passed the “Why no gore” many, many times, feeling guilty each and every time.

I always thought that the thread was about “Where is Al Gore in all this mess?” or maybe “Why don’t we have Al Bore as President rather than Buss II?” or even “Isn’t this the time for all good politicians to be seen and heard? So where’s Al Gore?”.

Thanks to your link (–I am a compulsive clicker–) I know know what the thread REALLY was about. Yeuch! Yuook!!
