I must have been channeling both Grandmothers recently ...

because both liked to garden and maintained beautiful flower gardens in their yards. I only have a patio, but had been thinking (for the past couple of years actually) of putting a couple of planters with flowers out there. This weekend, I put some in–I went out, got planters, flowering plants (impatiens and pansies), gardening tools, and Saturday afternoon got out there and got into the dirt. I’ve kept one planter that I’m going to put herbs in, so I’m not quite finished yet, but it looks nice so far–and my patio is a bit brighter. I actually sat out there this afternoon for a bit, since it wasn’t too hot. I think my Grandmoms would be happy for me, and I’ve been thinking of both of them too. For the record, both grandmoms passed away when I was in my teens, back in the 60s.
