An old retired guy in Miami decides that he wants a camel. He orders one, it arrives and he’s delighted. He gets on its back and spends the day tromping through the neighborhood waving to everyone and basically acting like this is the greatest thing in the world.

Next morning, he goes outside and the camel’s gone. He calls the police and the officer starts taking notes. “Can you tell me how tall the camel was?”

Speaking of camels, it was funny that on Mythos in “The Experience of God” Joseph Campbell reported with amusement that Camel cigarettes has a picture of a dromedary that is a racing camel with one hump, and he showed then a picture of a box of Dromedary Dates that had a picture of a Bactrian two hump camel. *

• And I wonder how he did that because most ads of Dromedary Dates I see on the web have the correct one hump camel.
