I need an answer comic book fanatics

The question that i am posting today was asked to me by a friend and in my heart of hearts i could not come up with a good answer so now i am looking to you for the answer. " Who would win in a battle of the Justice League and the X-Men?"

Answer with one word.

“Superman”.

Case closed.

The answer to the question is “Grow the fuck up, dude.”

Nice

Dandinga, please ignore him. Welcome to the forum.

Any team with Superman, Green Lantern, and the Martian Manhunter on their side is gonna kick some serious ass. You have to invent plot-driven reasons why Superman can’t beat the X-men on his own.

What a lovely response, Cliffy. Yeah, this question probably belongs in Cafe Society rather than General Questions, but even there it wouldn’t warrant your pit-style personal attack. It’s Dandinga’s first post. Cut him some slack.

Welllllllll…

If we are talking CLASSIC X-men, I think:
(A) Phoenix could take Superman on, if she’s in “Power Cosmic” mode. But it would be the two of them fighting - and then everybody else fighting everybody elese.
(B) Professor X could probably use his telepathy to shut down Superman’s brain, which therefore makes it a Take-Superman-Out-Of-The-Equation battle.

Although I think Wonder Woman could kick some butt on her own. And I’d love to see a battle-of-the-intangibles fight between Martian Manhunter and Kitty Pryde (shadowcat).

Overall? I think the Justice League has a higher power level for their Super Heroes, as compared to the mutations of the X-men.

And a Batman versus Wolverine fight? Batman would win, if he was prepared.

Superman, in fact, is not the real problem. There are several ways the X-Men could deal iwht him (mostly via telepaths). However, while poerful, the X-Men don’t have the ability to mimic the potency and versatility of Green Lantern or Martian Manhunter.

And this belongs in Cafe.

Dude, I used to think you were alright, but you’re really some kind of jerk.

Now now, let us not hastily condemn Cliffy. True, he could be exhibiting some extreme jerkitude here, but might we for a moment consider that he was not telling the OP to grow the fuck up, but instead was simply suggesting in jest that the OP tell the friend to grow up? Along the lines of Shatner’s “Get a Life!” for instance?

I was waiting for this to be moved, but I might as well answer now as others are already responding: If Superman vs. Maxwell Lord is any indication, then Professor X will pwn Superman. However, with Martian Manhunter, and the slightest bit of preperation, those two will totally pwn (sorry, I just think that term is funny) all X-Men together. Do the X-Men have an answer for a mind-protected, superfast blitzkrieging Superman? He would throw Juggernaught into orbit along with Magneto. His heat vision is on par if not stronger than Cyclops’s. Look at Supes’ back-up: a near Kryptonian-class Martian with heat vision, invisibililty, mind control, and intangibility. J’onn J’onzz by himself would give the X-Men a run for their money.

I thought Cliffy was being careful to indicate exactly that. If he had been directing the “grow the fuck up” comment at the OP, he could have dispensed with the first six words of his post and the quote marks around the rest.

Let’s give Cliffy the benefit of the doubt and say that he was telling the OP what to tell his friend. Cliffy, if you read this again, please come back and explain your harsh-sounding comment in a thread that wasn’t in the Pit.

And let’s put this in Cafe Society, which is where we discuss the Arts, tv, movies, comics, games, etc.

And, now that I"ve read all 27 “Report this post” messages in my email today, I’m closing this. There’s a new thread started by the OP.
