I need an "egg timer" for OSx

I had a good one, called “FM Egg Timer” IIRC, on my old mac. It stayed on the control strip, and was very simple and handy. Trouble is, it won’t work on OSx. I looked on the site and they only have a version for “classic”. Crap!
I’ve also searched w/google and looked on twocows, etc and had no luck at all. It has to be a no-brains install for me to be able to install and use it.
All I want is a countdown timer so I’ll not cremate my boiled eggs and the like.
Any help?
Thanks,

If you’ve got Tiger (OSX 10.4), there’s EggTimer, the Dashboard widget.

And, if not, there’s iClock

I use the HBTimer, under OS 10.2.8. Works fine for me.

You need a computer program to boil eggs? Why not take a cooking class instead?

Well said from someone who obviously doesn’t cook.
:stuck_out_tongue:

Nice one, but a bit more than I need. Plus it cost $20.
But on the same site I found tea timer, which is exactly what I was looking for. Freeware, and it even alerts me to my burning Eggs ala Madd Maxx with Big Ben. So thanks for the lead.
All’s well that ends well, eh?
Thanks all, and peace

Actually, I have worked in a couple of restaurants as a cook, and my family has owned a restaurant. I usually cook thanksgiving and christmas dinners for my family too. But I’m glad you found what you were looking for.

I was just joshin’ MM.
I use the timer for a lot more than boiling eggs, but time is critical for a decent hard-cooked egg. I can get engrossed in something else, like posting here, and totally forget the poor egg boilong (or coffee roasting).
I never use it for tea though.
