I need bootie advice

My wife has had a pair of booties - soft-fabric boots, slipper-like soles, about 1/4 way up the calf - like, forever, and now they’re falling apart. She wants a new pair as a birthday/Hanukkah present, but I have no idea where to find them, or if I found them, whether it’s a quality brand or not. Can anyone suggest a store(or website)/brand to me?

Zappos.com? They have a huge selection and their customer service is fantastic.

Are these from LL Bean what you’re thinking of? They’re a very reliable company. I actually own these from Land’s End, which are similar, and love them. Very toasty.

Why did I think this thread had nothing to do with shoes???

Zsofia, those look perfect. Thanks, everyone!

Gotta love the deceiving thread titles.

OMG! I was horrified when I saw leg warmers reappear in stores this year. (You kids - get your own damn fads! And stay off my lawn, too!) I was even more horrified when I briefly considered buying them, because leg warmers do a dandy job of…well…keeping one’s legs, especially the ankles, warm.

But, thanks to Zsofia, I can have warm ankles without stooping to leg warmers! YAY!

They’re awesome - warm and toasty, yet sturdily-soled enough to go out and get the dog in.

Zsofia, I’ve got a question for you about those Land’s End ones - the picture you linked to has the boot-tops folded down, to ankle-height. Is it sewn that way, or can it be folded back up to cover the calf as well?

So, you want more bootie? That, my friend, is something we have in common.

My friend’s 14 year old daughter has asked me to knit her a pair of leg warmers for her birthday ( which was in November.)

I told her “only if you cut your Tshirt so it hangs on your shoulders in a seductive fashion and become a welder by day and stripper by night.”

For some reason she didn’t get the reference.

Get off mah lawn!

Look to the Acorns if you need help with a bootie.

No, you can fold them down or up.

Perfect, thanks - that’s what I’m getting, then.
