Oh… I thought you wanted thong pics. I was waiting on those… but if you want the tummy pics (and gratuitous tattoo pic), I’ll happily send them along. But I require feedback.

Aaaaccckkkk!! No! Don’t do that! I’ve been sick, so I haven’t been checking my e-mail at home! When I get home from work (usually a couple of hours early), I just feel like collapsing on the couch. I’ll check them out tonight, I promise! Don’t cross me off the list!
That’s pretty much what my life has been like for the last two weeks or so: sickness. I think I’ve turned the corner, though; I woke up today and my sore throat was gone! I’m still congested and have a slight cough, but I’m sure I’m getting better.
Oh, and Rue? What’s wrong with Ethilrist’s post, exactly? It looks fine to me.
Lindy, it really only shows up in Netscape. (Netscape is kinda retarded.) But it’s still funny to me. And that’s what this is all about: Amusing me.
babekitten, yeah, the Head Underpants Gnome said he ('cause he’s some other guy, not me) wanted the thing pix. Me? I’ll take anything I can get. (That didn’t come out right, but I’m leaving it anyway.)
-Rue.
“thing pix”= “thong pictures” in Underpants Gnomese.
Indeed?? Why don’t you just send me your address then? I’ll send you something. No, really, I’m not kidding. After all, you do like doggies, right? Rue?? Are you ignoring me?? This isn’t a trick - truly it isn’t!! It’s all about the friendship. I love you like a friend, you know… Rue??
Lemme see. My son, GingerSnap is doing fabulously well in school. He lost two teeth last week, one on Friday and then one on Monday. The Tooth Fairy tracked him down and he is now $6.00 richer. Don’t get excited, it’s $6 Canadian.
I spent the weekend with my dad’s wife last weekend. It was a long drive, but it was nice to see her. My dad was away for the weekend, so we made the family appearance at my Grandma’s 80th birthday thingy/thanksgiving dinner. We shopped. The’s a lovely woman.
Work is ok. I’m still so underemployed that I am begging for email to amuse me. At least I get to cruise the Dope and the net during the day, and get paid for it.
I’m going to a candle party tonight. Not to buy anything, but to drink wine and eat snackies with friends. And, I am an Atlantean Princess with Magical Powers. Rue said so. I like that much better than being Queen of the Spaceways.
GingerBeef, my New Boyfriend (thanks for the name, Odie), has finally finished the family business negotiations in Vancouver and has come home. Finally. Things are going incredibly well with him.
Tuesday night, I made pickled beets by myself, for the first time ever. I used old canning jars with the glass lids and rubber rings for seals, and they didn’t seal properly. I had to re-can everything last night. They all worked. At least I got a new canner out of the deal, and GingerBeef is in awe of my home-maker talents. He will now go on about not only my clean house, but my cooking skills.
So, Rue, what’s new with you?
Well, I get to go listen to a former civil engineering professor, who is a member of Missouri Task Force 1, talk about the WTC tonight at 5:30. That’ll be interesting. And my little sister is feeding me tonight. Dorm food. How I love it.
I need to change the cat’s litter. They’re not going on the floor yet, but I’d hate for that to start.
I read somewhere that when you’re feeling blah, that rainy weather makes you feel better. It was probably a fiction book, because I think I would really prefer to see the sun right now.
I hate it when you click a link in Outlook and it takes your current IE window away from you, and you have to hit the back button to finish your mpsims ramblings.
Well, right now I am sitting in this programming class and equivocating between writing some more code and eating my sandwich for lunch. This is the Third Way. Posting to SMDB, I mean.
This morning I got to finally see what the contractor is doing to my house. Looks like the siding replacement is cedar after all. This is going to cost me a fortune.
Last night I made some very nice stew, compliments of Ukelele Ike and HelloAgain. You should real drop by Cafe Society more often, I scarcely see you over there. Can’t wait to eat it tonight. Literally, since I snuck a little bowl as a late night snack yesterday. Yum.
The best part of making the stew was the contributions by the Olethlings[sup]TM[/sup]. The girl was washing the vegetables and the boy was peeling them when I got home. Apparently this was great fun for them. Then the girl helped me with the cooking part. They also ate pumpkin pie whilst Mrs. ShibbOleth and I had our evening repast.
Also, I am having some difficulties deciding whom to start in my Fantasy Football leagues this weekend. And I should get around to paying my phone bill. I just don’t like those people at Sprint Wireless.
That’s all for now, entirely MPSIMS.
Rue, you are so sweet.
It’s raining here today. It’ll probably rain tomorrow.
I’m about to go to lunch with my husband.
I watched the West Wing premiere last night and I’m all excited 'cuz Sorkin set us up for so many good stories. This season should rock.
Zappo is one of my best friends and the email I got from him today confirmed it.
A lady I work with brings her dog to work everyday. I get to pet on that dog all day long. I have a pretty sweet job.
We got a new mattress and boxsprings and my back doesn’t hurt when I wake up anymore. Simmons Beauty Rest, how I love thee.
I have this Silly Putty that changes color when you mush it up.
That’s all I got. Can I call you Rue Debaga?
Well, at least someone cares. Here I am slaving away, starting ill-concieved threads, and it takes this long for some one to ask about me. Ginger you are on your way to “Special Friend” status. With all the perqs that go with it.
I’m not doing much these days. I get to take Soupo to Pre-K, come back and put Katcha down for his nap, then I have to be real quiet while he sleeps, get him up and go back and pick Soupo up from school. Fun for the whole family.
Tuesday, Soup’ had a bad day. Miss Beth told me she had to settle him down at talk to him like eight times. We had a talk and he promised to be better. Wednesday he was better. Only one “minor incedent”. Today the Fireman comes for a talk. Tomorrow I take the little guy to the dentist.
I go myself in two weeks. Woo hoo!
Sorry you didn’t like the Ginger of the Spaceways plot twist. It looks like that storyline died anyway. It’s just as well, I think you’d be going to The Planet of the (as yet unknown, mystery animals) Maybe I’d make them sentient platypusses. That could be good. But, like I said, that thread is currently dead.
Sophie, you can call me anything you’d like. And I’m glad you think I’m sweet, but wouldn’t you like to lick me and be sure? Think about it. (Why do you laugh like that? Did I say something funny?)
Does anyone think SummerOne is going to find this thread? It took her forever to find the thread with her own name on it.
Does anyone think Sarah Michelle Gellar will find this thread? Does anyone else think Sarah Michelle Gellar could do better than Freddie Prinze, Jr.?
Does anyone think Danny Stern will see this? I hope so. He deserves as much grief as possible for the 15 minutes of his show I actually watched.
-Rue.
But, Rue dearest, I found this thread… that’s more than most men should dare dream. Don’t get greedy, my sweet… I am, after all, me. [sub]Who said that in what movie?[/sub]
oops, sorry - there I went getting all delusional.
Incidentally, nice shirt - it brings out your eyes. Nice eyes. Can I get you something? A beverage, perhaps, or a tasty snack?
Thanks for askin’, Rue.
I’ve been sick the past few days. And feel free to NOT be the next person to ask me if I think it’s Anthrax.
You do that, and I’ll have to call my doctor for an appointment. You know, just to be safe. 'Cause then I’ll have time to get my will in order…
But really, I think I’m getting better. I’m at that stage where everything is “productive”, so hopefully it will clear out of here soon.
My 10 year high school reunion is coming up in 3 weeks. I need to find something to wear. This is VERY important. I was a dork in high school.
Hey, I heard that! I’m not a dork…I’m not, I’m not, I’m not!!!
Ooh, check it out. I posted that last one at 12:22.
Okay, I’ll stop now.
You wanna know the details of my exciting life? I’ll give them to ya bay-bee.
I’ve been working in my not-quite-so-shiny-new job all week and my feet hurt a lot. A whole bunch. Really. Eight and a half hours a day on my feet every day is hard work on the old tootsies. On the plus side, I work with books day in and day out. People think I am wise and come to me for recommendations. And because it’s an independent shop, I have the power (THE POWER!) to choose what we do and don’t stock. Yes, little old me decides what the good people of my town can purchase book-wise. It’s a hell of a responsibility, I can tell you. Do we need another copy of How To Feed Your Monkey or shall we go with Toast Bonnets - The Way Foward?
In other news, my nanny and granddad (Except we call him Gandy because the first granddaughter couldn’t say granddad. Bless.) came to visit me today. They gave me some of that pretend money that passes for real money in your country. I notice that the one dollar bills have circled letters on them. Do you have to collect the set?
Yesterday I cooked a really nice vegetable soup using organic carrots (If you’re going to go organic on anything, get organic carrots. Very flavoursome.) and crimini mushrooms, onions, celery and pearl barley to thicken. While the onions were sweating I did the funky boogie to Me and Bobbie McGee by Janis Joplin. It’s a belter of a song.
Fran
Thank you for asking, Rue! You’ve already become one of my favorite dopers, just for your presence in MPSIMS.
I suppose I should introduce myself here and say “hi” to everyone and stuff. So, Hi. my name is mle and right now I’m copyediting a book about sensational orgasms. Don’t ask unless you really want to know.
also, I have a passion for virtually grabbin’ asses. Watch yer booty if I’m around.
but the thing is, I’m excited today because the Mild-Mannered Superhero is coming to visit! Woohoo!! [:D] (aforementioned superhero lives in Colorado, I’m in California)
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank EVERYONE for providing yet another place for me to waste my time while I’m “working.”
and Francesca, I agree. Organic carrots are delish.
just call me grabbyhands,
mle
Well hi there Rue. How the hell are ya? I’m just dandy, thanks for askin’.
Not much happening at Castell Zappo right now, but there are plenty of zany hijinx just the same. . .
Monday was a holiday so I was off and got to sleep late for the first time in a long time.
I had to go to Pittsburgh [insert old joke about buxom ticket agent here] on Tuesday for an appellate court argument that went absolutely swimmingly.
Since I had to stay in Pittsburgh overnight on Tuesday and spent all day Wednesday in the car coming home this is the first day this week I had to be in the office.
Sophie is one of my best friends. She’s a fantastic person.
I’m going to Arlington on Saturday to participate in a poker run to raise money for the folks in NYC and DC. It’s being run by an old friend’s boyfriend. If you’re there, you’ll notice me. I’ll be the guy in the blue station wagon surrounded by a pack of bikers.
There’s a new supermarket in my neighborhood and they have a really great salad bar that features kickass eggplant caponata. I might get some for dinner tonight.
I’ve discovered that I can sing most of my favorite Louis Prima and Frank Sinatra songs straight through from memory in the shower. Tickets are $18, $24, and $36. FairyChatMom gets in for free.
Zap
is having another round with a recurrent erosion.
For those not in the know, it’s when your eyelid sticks to your cornea while you’re sleeping & rips up a flap of it when you open your eyes… YOWCH!
This is the 3rd or 4th times it’s happened - last episode in August. The eye dr’s tried a procedure called strobopuncture that is pretty much what it sounds like - the flap of cornea is tamped back down with a needle in hopes that it will grow back more securely. And for 80% of the patients it does. (Guess who’s a 20%-er?) Next step - laser surgery…
Sigh - Mr. Pol wants to look into (so to speak) a glass eye & be over with this.
Plus it’s rainy & cold - yeah fall.
WOOHOO!!! I’m a freebie?? Should I bring my own towel or will you do the homors???
ummm, honors… do the honors…
:o
Rue rue rue yer boat, gently down the stream…
I’d invite FairyChatMom over to help me sing in the shower, but I have a singing voice like a bucket full of bullfrogs. sigh
Homors? Are you guys playing baseball in there? Just try to keep the curtain closed then, okay?
Well Rue, I went to the dentist this morning and he said my teeth were doing great. They should be, considering the money I’ve put into them this year. Well, not literally into them, I wouldn’t actually put money into my mouth, who knows where that stuff’s been? I give it to my dentist and he puts it somewhere. Into his Swiss bank account I suppose.
The bad news is I got a speeding ticket on my way from the dentist to work. The cop said I was doing 74 in a 50 zone. (On the interstate no less.) It’s a $175.00 fine. That ain’t chicken feed. So I’m a little depressed. I just gave at the dentist’s.
Otherwise things are pretty good. How are things with you? Did the little woman (only 6" tall) get mad at you when she saw the mess after the party? Did you get the doghouse out of the pool? What’s the capitol of Nairobi?
