I need help/answers ASAP (about the video game Harvest Moon).

The one for the SNES.
Anyone ever play this? I actually considered putting this topic in GQ since it’s not really about the gameplay itself, but a question about how to prove something.
Apparently there is a HUGE debate over it for those who are a fan of it and I found out about it today.

I’ve played that game so many times when it came out. I got one of the first copies of it and spent years playing it. I must have played it more than anyone else I know. And twice (only twice though), I had three kids (after getting married) instead of just two.

However there are leading experts on the game who claim this is impossible. I just had a talk with a guy who wrote an extensive walkthrough on it, in fact, and who seemed to know everything there is to know about it (except this, apparently). And he was right about everything too (save for this). He then told me it’s been a long running debate among players of that version of HM…because only one or two people have ever come forth saying they were able to have three kids.

He went on to say it’s impossible to have three kids since the game doesn’t have enough memory in it for three kids and people have actually researched the game and found there is not ROOM ENOUGH in the game to have three kids.

Yet I have had three kids in this game. I know it. For a fact. I’ve had three kids on two different occations because I remember seeing the bed filled up with two kids in their little bear outfits and then another in the crib and I remember thinking “huh. There’s no more room in the bed so what’s going to happen when the new kids grows up?”…although it was never a factor because the third never came until near the end of the game. BUT IT DID come.
How can I prove this? I mean anything short of getting the game and doing it again, somehow? Can it be proven? Has anyone here ever had three kids in that game? How can we get an actual, factual answer on this? I tried writing to the game makers but they haven’t replied back.

Factual question: Is it possible to have three kids in the SNES version of Harvest Moon?

Factual answer: ?

Does nobody know?

It seems to me that, short of repeating it (and getting a saved game or savestate online), what you could do is play around with save game editors or memory editors or various SNES code devices to see if you can trick the game into giving you three kids. While this wouldn’t be proof that it’s possible, it would at least show that the game has the capability of having three kids at once, and might give hints about how to achieve it without cheating.
