I have the opportunity to go to Italy this spring break (march 11-18). My grandmother is the only thing keeping me from going there, saying i should be on a tour(too freakin expensive) with a guide. dont want to. i already have everything planned out. hotels and the like. its gonna be just me and a friend, and we are the same age. i am 17, a junior in high school. any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Jason
The secret of acting is sincerity. Once you have learnt to fake that, you are made.

Oh, you wanted arguments!
Well, why is your grandmother even involved in the discussion?
If you are already fairly responsible, (good grades, steady job, haven’t gotten in to drinking or doing drugs), you should be able to persuade those in authority that you can be trusted to go.
Show her (them) the itenerary, the budget, etc. Show them that you have a way to communicate with whomever you need to in the case of an emergency (medical personnel, U.S. consulate, police, etc.). (I.e. you understand the need and you have the competency and the materials to carry it out.)
thanks tom. i am over at my grandparent house quite often, because back when i was a child, my mother lived with them while going to college. my mother wants her approval so that my grandmother doesnt get pissed off at everybody. the list of emergency stuff was a great idea, and i already had an itenerary drawn out.
guess we’ll see!
