I need kiwi recipes

Kiwi mango chutney. Very tart

I swiped this one on line as I’m too lazy to type it all out. Subsitute mango for the banana, and leave out the cilantro. Add about two tblsp ground coriander. If it gets too “bright” I find that a drop or two (no more!) of dark sesame oil adds just the right umami. If you can’t find dark brown sugar, use molasses instead.

Ingredients:
• 1 tbsp Olive Oil
• 1 tsp Garlic (minced)
• 1 tbsp Fresh Ginger (chopped)
• 1/3 cup Onion (chopped)
• 1/2 tsp Curry Powder
• 1/4 tsp Dried Red Pepper flakes
• 5 Kiwifruit (peeled, diced, divided)
• 1 Banana (peeled, diced)
• 2 tbsp Orange Juice
• 2 tbsp Lime Juice
• 2 tbsp Malt Vinegar
• 2 tbsp dark Brown Sugar
• 1 tbsp Fresh Cilantro Leaves (chopped)
• 1 tbsp Fresh Mint Leaves (chopped)

How to make Kiwifruit Chutney:•Combine all ingredients and put the mixture in a saucepan. •Boil it gently for an hour until thick and soft. •Stir it occasionally. •Cool it and transfer into sterilized jars. •Kiwifruit Chutney is ready.

ETA: Iwould use balsamlmic vinegar as well. It’s not traditional, but it’s yummy!

Those sound delicious! I haven’t seen them around here, I work/shop at a large-sized grocery chain. I hope I see them someday!

They’re very nice (IMHO)… they’ve only been around a few years, and often get sold here in a pack of 10 along with a plastic spoon/knife thing (spife?) so you can eat them immediately.

Picture of the yellow fruit and the more traditional green off the Wiki page on Kiwifruit.

BTW, the Zespri web site (silly name…) has quite a few kiwifruit recipes for those wanting to try something with them.

ETA: Oh… apparently it is called a Spife!
