I need pics/illustrations of basic hairstyles, please

Preferably ones I can print out and take to a stylist. I’ve been wearing my hair pretty long with loose layers for some years now, and I’m tired of it. It’s more than halfway down my back, which is as long as it will grow without being all split ends, and I just think it’s time for a change.

So if you know of a great cut for very, very thick wavy hair, please let me know. I only shampoo, condition, and comb out my hair. My little sister was into that whole “spend half an hour in the bathroom on her hair” routine when we were kids, and frankly, I have better uses for half an hour each day. I’m willing to put forth some effort for a special occasion…but not on a daily basis. I also don’t want a cut that’s going to require me to go to the salon every other week.

I usually buy hairstyle magazines. There are lots at Walgreen’s, CVS, and similar places.

Find a good stylist.

I went to my favorite stylist and let him decide what to do with my hair. It was the best style I have ever had. It was expensive (close to $100 iirc) but worth every penny. Strangers would stop me in the mall and ask who did my hair…it was really that good.

Unfortunately, he moved to Boca Raton and I’ve not been able to find another good stylist in my farm-raised community ever since. I think stylists should have to get a divorce decree from their clients before they’re allowed to move. :frowning:
