Those first two are both Tycho and yes, that is Tycho on the top and Spica on the bottom of that last pic. They are brothers, they look a lot alike.

Yes, but I am bit embarrassed to admit I discovered her at a listening station in a Borders Bookstore when The Keep came out. I was intrigued because she was compared to my two favorites, Kate and Tori. I also have Equipoise and Rearmament. I generally prefer her more acoustic stuff. I love that David Bowie “Ashes to Ashes” cover!

Yes, Lily is the little blond kitten. Otto is the big blond dog, and Jake is the dark cat who has clearly not fallen for Lily’s charms. There’s also a beauty shot of the late great Oops in there, the tabby with the beautiful green eyes.

laugh Hey, I saw that movie, it was great!
I am still planning to do this, but got delayed. I was sidetracked by another project, plus I’m waiting to hear from Hap to see if she has other cat pictures she’d share with me. I only have 3 pictures of her cats, and they’re old, nothing current. She’s on vacation so is probably not reading her mail. I’ve got more questions and comments I’ll post later. The video will end up being just a montage of cat pictures, mainly because I don’t have the perfect pictures to go along with specific lyrics, the proper program to be able to do that anyway (I thought I did, but I don’t), nor the talent to do a good job of it. Doper’s cat pictures, randomized, will be nice too though!

I have some severe editing to do. I want to use ALL the pictures, but I put together a rough version with all your wonderful pictures and had over 12 minutes(!) of cat pictures, but only 4+ minutes of songs. I hate editing. My husband is correct when he says I can’t edit for shit (he says that with much amused affection). It’ll be hard, all the photos are so nice.

beowulff, who’s the brown dog with the pre-shorn Andy? I’m doing a dog video next and would like to get a head start on Doper’s dog pics. I won’t use anyone’s dogs without their permission, but I have downloaded some dog pictures I’ve seen. I have FairyChatMom’s Bernie and Scruffy, and HalBriston’s unnamed dog (what’s the dog’s name Hal?). I know there are others because I saw some more when getting the cat pictures, but at that time I hadn’t thought of doing a dog song so I didn’t get them. I’d have to go back through everyone’s albums. When the time comes I will put out a call for dog pictures in a separate thread.
Speaking of, HalBriston, what’s with Powder’s eyes?? It’s very cool-looking but is Powder blind in that eye? Powder reminds me of our Otto, only without the eye thing going on.

I had a very pleasurable hour+ going through and getting to know Boo, Majyk, Merlin and Powder while saving the pictures. What wonderful cats. I had tears fall a couple of times (like seeing the four of them on the bed together) because I remembered you said only one was left. I’m not going to use it because it has a human in it, but I think my favorite picture so far is the one with the female human sleeping and Boo in the most awkward-looking but apparently totally comfy position asleep leaning on her.

Btw, a lot of your pictures weren’t there. Yes, I went through all 180 pictures. I didn’t count but maybe about 20 weren’t there. The thumbnails were there, a cruel taunt that a cool picture awaited (like Pets B141 of Boo standing at the window) but not the full size.

Thanks. What I didn’t realize was that the majority of the pictures are of Tycho and Spica as kittens, and those were Tycho and Spica grown up. That’s why I thought they were different cats from the little ones. Spica looks pretty much the same, but Tycho looks very different, and that’s why I was confused.

I’m not even done downloading from your album yet. Adorable Cuteness Overload! How the HELL am I going to decide which ones to use when they’re all so freakin’ CUTE? Now I understand your username! I go back and forth on the acoustic vs. electronic vs. all the other. The Keep is my 2nd favorite album, the perfect quiet morning or late evening album, it’s so beautiful. I just put up an audio-only vid on YouTube, since RhodeSongs is now out of print. Here it is if anyone’s curious.

Second, just to confirm, could you link to one picture of each of the cats so I’m clear on who is who? Yup, he’s the remaining one. Majyk and Powder were much older than the others. Not really sure what happened with Merlin – one evening I commented to my wife that he didn’t look very good, and a few hours later I found him on his favorite chair – he was gone.

Ah yes, that’s one of the reasons I’ll be switching web hosts soon – the one I currently used has hosed most of the newer pictures. You can still view them though – you just have to set the dropdown menu on the page to “Original”. It renders the picture massive, pretty much too big to see, but it’s there (this is why the newest pics on there are coming up on a year old).
