RIP Powder, Majyk and Merlin, and all the other cats in this thread no longer with their humans. I will use their pictures. I have four cats myself who are no longer here, you bet I’m going to use them.
Sorry, I guess I should have tagged those better. Spica looks very much the same now, but just like a human, his mustache grew in as he got older! I had just gotten the camera when my sister got the kittens. I went a little crazy. Kittens are irresistible! But don’t worry, I only have a few pix of my brother’s dog for your next project.
Oh, it just lacks a certain coolness factor, ya know? I wish I could say I dropped out of school and drove around the country in a van trading tapes with indie musicians or something. But yes, it was certainly wonderful exposure for Happy. I am sure a lot of us who weren’t hip enough to be in on the indie music scene discovered her at Borders.
Hah, don’t worry about it. Happy would be the first to tell you that she’s the biggest dork around. Geeky more than dorky, I think. She’s into SF (her favorite films are Alien(s) and Blade Runner), monsters and monster movies, Lord Of The Rings (books and movies) and Star Trek (series and movies).
Yep. That was during her “on the verge” years, when a slight tipping one way could have turned her into a “discovered” artist, but instead the see saw tipped the other way (partially [no] thanks to a f*cked-up record company that screwed her over) and she stayed obscure and unknown (well, she does have a worldwide following as a cult artist, but I mean to the general public). Sigh.
You can have any of them you want. You’re correct on Ladybug (belated lab mix) and Jasmine (pound puppy mutt.) Maggie isn’t mine, nor is Sylvester/Sly (grey and white kitty–they belong to my SIL.) Molly is the calico, Punky’s the orange one. Rio is the young, handsome kitty and Trouble is the one that looks like a stuffed animal with half the stuffing out and missing some fur. He was in his later years there. At a quick glance, I only see one pic of him–sitting on a scratching pad.
The horses are my SIL’s as well.
The kittens (Smut and Polly) were Molly and Punky’s littermates, and my friend still has them.
And if you want my lovebird, she has her own album.

Thanks for the clarification. I’ve got everybody straight. I might use Sly anyway. There are some great pictures there. In fact, some of the pictures (not just in your stream) with humans are so striking I might give in to temptation and crop them to cut the humans out as much as possible. Besides Hal Briston’s delightful sleepers, THIS picture made me do a double-take. It’s like two different cats melded together! I hate to crop out a beloved relative but damn, I gotta use that cat! No disrespect toward the woman intended. What’s the cat’s name?

Rio’s markings are very cool btw. That pic of Rio on the couch from the back made me say “wow” because of the stripe.

stargazer, just to confirm, since their faces are so much alike that sometimes I need body clues, Savannah is on the left and Samantha is on the right, right? And in this one Samantha is on the left and Savannah is on the right, right? Savannah, if it’s the same cat, got much more coloring as she grew older, it would seem. This cat doesn’t look like this cat. It’s a bit confusing which is why I want to confirm.
Hee. The cats are only allowed to sleep with us when it’s VERY cold. The dogs LOVED the boat. Especially Ladybug. She just loved to GO, anywhere, anytime.
The kitty in the picture you linked…well, that’s a special story. That cat was my Granny’s cat. When she died, the family asked me to take her, but I couldn’t. So I asked my friend Bert if she wanted Miss Kitty. She did, and she fell in LOVE with that kitty. It was a match made in heaven. If you look again, you’ll see a picture of an elderly lady with the same kitty–that was Granny. It makes my heart happy to know that my Granny’s kitty has such a loving home with my dear friend. I took the picture, though, so you have my permission to crop Bert out.
You are right on all counts. And Savannah really did get a lot darker as she got older - isn’t it funny? But - in case you have other questions - Savannah has the blue eyes and Samantha the green. That should help sort them out in a lot of those photos! …except the many photos of them sleeping…
Oh, I’d forgotten about that picture! That’s just from when she was spayed. Once she got over the grogginess from the surgery, she was fine – I don’t remember either of them being bothered by the incision. Which is not to say that we didn’t baby them or worry about them…
Ok, Tamerlane and her unnamed (hinthint) cats came in under the wire. I just got an email from Happy with jpgs of her cats, so I’ll be finishing up the video. I’ll post when it’s done.
