Ooops, ha, thanks.
I finished one version and uploaded it but something went wrong in the transition so I’m going to redo it, but I’m leaving to go to a sneak preview of Away We Go so it’ll be later this evening before I can try again.

It’s likely to look better after the processing is all done.
I hope to hell I got everybody. There were hundreds of pictures I didn’t use, and several dozen of those it was really painful to cut. I could have made a super duper extra long extended mix and still not get in all of the pictures I wanted.
MrBusGuy, please forgive me. I didn’t realize until after it was on YouTube that I forgot Marty. I’m so sorry.
I am going to make captions (ha, I typed CATions before CATching myself) but for now just enjoy the kitties without worrying about who belongs to who.
Huh, the thread I originally thought this up for is now a zombie thread so I don’t know if I’ll post it there. Maybe.
Btw, AWAY WE GO IS REALLY REALLY GOOD! It’s a wonderful film, very quiet, gentle, sweet, a “smile” comedy rather than a laugh out loud comedy.
It is great- I loved the cats in the bird house. Well done.
Thanks Cicero!
I was wrong, yay! I just finished the list of cats that I used, and Marty is there.
Very nice! (And not just because Jez and Zeb appear more than once. :D)
Who belongs to the karate cat at 1:13?
I don’t remember - I was waiting for this shop to open up, and I saw this cat walking in the window. I just thought it was cute, “how much is that kitty in the window” and all that. The shop was in Nashville, TN.
Thanks! The karate cat is Hal Briston’s Boo. Isn’t that a great picture?
I added identifying subtitles, which can be turned off and on. It’s that icon in the lower right hand corner of the player. Mouseover and there’s a popup with the captions option.
Edit to add, I was responding to twickster.
beowulff, oh good, it’s not your cat, so I don’t have to feel bad that I didn’t use the picture.
Oh, wow, that was awesome! You used a lot of my pics, and that makes me very happy! You even got my lovebird in there!
Very nice! So many beautiful kitties!
Sorry Tequila, it’s too late. Do you have any dogs? I’ll be asking for Doper dogs at some point.
I think I’ll start a new thread so other folks aren’t confused that the project is still going on.
TroubleAgain, I had to have the lovebird! That pic is priceless!
If I made any mistakes in the captions please let me know. It’s a text file and easily fixed.
I feel bad that some kitties got short shrift when others were used a lot. It wasn’t intentional, believe me.
I have really got to buckle down and get some decent photos of Da Lildebeest!
Dammit, just missed it. And I’d remembered this picture of our Joe too.
Oh, I was late and I’m ok with that.
No dogs here, just the one waiting by the door for the kids to come home from school, face licking, fetch playing cat. I gotta tell ya, this cat is the best dog I’ve ever had!
Again, thanks for doing this. It rocks!
and I’m not trying to be a pain in the hindquarters, but you forgot the 1 at the end of my name. Didn’t realize it was fixable, so I didn’t mention it before…
Not a pain at all! It’s fixed now.
I almost want to do a version 2 using all the pictures that I couldn’t use the first time, plus the new ones from Tequila and Pushkin (and anyone else). That way lies madness, but I’ll think about it.
Or, huh, she does have a song about the death of a cat. I’m tempted to make a tribute video to all the dearly departed ones. That would be morbid, but I’ll probably think about it too. It’s a much weirder song though.
If Wishes Were Horses How Beggars Would Ride (scroll down in the player)
(or the much softer live version)
The “choice” is putting the cat to sleep. Wishing in retrospect she hadn’t made that choice. “…by filling up my eyes” refers to photographs, meaning that looking at photographs of the cat doesn’t bring comfort, just pain. She explains it in an Echoes interview with Kimberly Haas like this:
Ok, on second thought, that song probably wouldn’t fly.
Well, you did attribute a few of mine in the middle to Hal Briston…but it’s okay. And lovebirds are not afraid of much of anything! She regularly taunts the cats through the door/windows.
I fixed those yesterday, so Rio and Punky and Molly are yours again.
That’s GREAT!! So fun seeing my kitties on YouTube! Can’t wait for the doggie version!
We have an unfortunate number of those along the line, plenty of photos can be provided
